To those who say "If you hate america so much, why don't you leave?"

The answer of course is, we are people who have been abused by our government and society. We do not have the means to leave. But, since it would be to our mutual benefit to leave, I have come up with a solution to everyone's problem! The creation of a new non-profit organization to help people escape as political refugees of america. Jobs and shelter and food would be provided for those who need to escape america.

Why do we want to escape america? It has a massive focus on money, and nothing else. Corporations and politicians get away with things that the normal citizen would be in jail for dozens of years for. Our government treats civil rights like a pogo-stick (something to jump up and down on). Our foreign policy is something that would make Hitler gasp in shock and disgust. A complete lack of morals seems to rule the majority of uneducated fools in this country. Religion and fear seem to rule the mind of citizens more than common sense or decency.

American culture seems to be along the lines of: Be like us, or be imprisoned or killed. How is this any different than the terrorists we so claim to hate? Or the nazis that we frown upon in history? The fact is, there is no difference. The only difference is that people in america are trained to believe its a different situation. However, wrong is still wrong. Just because we won World War II doesn't give us the right to trample the rest of the world in the name of consumerism and minimum wage jobs.

Like many of you, I voted for Obama. That is something I greatly regret now. Not to say McCain would have been better, but at least he didn't lie during his campaign. Obama said he didn't believe in the wars, and now he has sent more troops (with the dollars we need to escape this totalitarianism) to Afghanistan. Why? To promote more terroristic attacks against our country by people who wish to be left alone. He said he would cut programs and agencies that didn't work from the federal budget. He lied. He increased spending on these failed programs. He is the same as any other politician, regardless of our dreams and hopes that he would fix things. He won't, he will just perpetuate the downgrade of society into pure evil.

Since so many people claim "If you hate america so much, why don't you leave?", I have been granted the vision of creating an organization to help people escape america as political refugees to another country. Anything else is nothing short of inhumane.

with any ideas, praises, offers of organizational or financial help, or any other way to help free us of american control. A one-size-fits-all mandatory culture is the sign of a totalitarian regime.

i'll say i'm with you as far as disliking the phrase "If you hate america so much, why don't you leave?". it gets a little too.. interesting.. after that.

first thing, a secret network to escape america is not necessary.. there is a public one. it's called delta airlines, and it isnt all too expensive to use it. or, you could get a boat, if you like the idea of doing a real "escape" from america. your real barrier would be getting into the country you're escaping to.

I also wouldn't equate being someone who disagrees with the current governmental institutions as a political refugee just yet. if you feel that it does, i would also guess you are one of the people who wears a tinfoil hat.
I am fully with you on the horrific foreign policy. initiating coups, supplying money to bad guys that serve our interest, unnecessary wars, and many other flavors of doing "bad stuff" is the bread and butter for america. that's a reality.
As far as the civil rights of the citizens in the US itself, i'm not so sure i'm with you. it's not common for our own citizens to be deprived their constitutional rights. if you believe that the government disappears dissenters or people it doesnt like, i'll refer you to another tinfoil hat.

i'm going to give you the constructive criticism that you lose the most credibility by claiming that america is a totalitarian state. you say that there is "a one-size-fits-all mandatory culture." i dont really see that. yes, it is infuriating that a lot of people get all their opinions from rush limbaugh. americans love to judge and ostracize. the "one-size-fits-all mandatory culture" exists to the extent that idiot citizens make it so. the people do this, not the government. if you are arguing that it is the government doing so, i'd like some better evidence.

i'm down with your idea in general. i think it would be cool for people who detest the american system because its run by shitheads (and those shitheads are elected by shithead citizens who hate people who are different from themselves) to have a (term loosely used) "refugee camp." i think you would do well to give a better argument for creating something like this though. aside from there being no real feasible way to make this happen, you dont give a great argument from premise to conclusion as to why people should believe you. a better formed argument can not only make you sound less crazy, but also have the potential to sway people's belief. such an argument would require something like the "Jaygcn Manifesto", but i'd probably read it hahaha.

the question isn't why haven't you left but. were are you going to go? what place on earth do you personally hold in higher reguard that you wish to pack up and go there instead? no country is perfect. and none will ever be. i know you can go to russa, china, iran, cuba, iraq, inda, egypt, jamaica, mexico.... all very beautiful countries. with many oppertunities and are open to your thoughts of america.

every generation has to try and be more flambous, more LOOK at ME and my needs each and every generation. saying you dont like the system. doesn't make it get better. complaining, whining, ect. does nothing. thinking your vote will make a diffrence in the world as we know it is a pipe dream. they blow smoke and you buy it. change yea right. love it or leave it . stop bitching about it unless your going to change it.

but hers a nice tip. people want change. but people are scared of change. and when your not looking they all go back to the way it was. even tho we find your humorous antics funny in a few of those place. i listed above. your words would have landed you in jail. never to see the light of day. and in a few otherrs you would have been killed. or my peson favorite. in at least 1 you would have never gotthe chance to even touch a pc to type them to begain with.

so as your sipping your Starbuck watching your cable Tv in your nice tempature controled residence. on your cell phone talking to your sweetheat, playing your videogames and chatting on your FFXI. waiting for Pizza Hut to Deliver your pizza, breaksticks and drink. i'm glad your thinking of what a crappy place we live in. i dont know what we would do as a people if it wasnt for your wise words to wake us all up for the oppression of Oboma.

Sup Jay, well I don't agree with much of this or most of it or any of it. The Obama thing is true. He gave promises and looked straight into the camera during a debate saying he would go line by line in the federal budget and eliminate 'pork'. His first budget one guy stood up and said get this stuff out. And it wasn't Obama. The difference between you and I, besides political philosophy. Is that I along with 46% of the nation knew Obama for what he was. He wasn't this god like figure sent from the heavens to make things better. Obama is a man who came from the Chicago political machine that has been corrupt since the 30's.
Obama's beliefs in bigger govt and higher taxes have since his inaug. day cost me about 30% of my 101k and cost my parents even more. From higher property taxes to higher sales taxes.....and soon to be higher federal income taxes. All this trillion dollar spending will come back and get ALL of us sooner or later. This rate of spending cant be sustained. People say this is Bush's fault. Bush had a deficit of 500bil in spending....which Obama is pushing to 3 trillion and higher with in 2months of his presidency.
But to those people who are getting woke up with cold water on their face from this new President. Congrats. This President is the first American Idol president. The guy can make speeches. Some say the best ever. But get him off the teleprompter.....Bush and him could battle it out to see who says 'Uhh' the most.
BTW: we are americans and congress will have to answer within a year and half for this spending. I just hope all this spending doesn't impede the american worker. Because in past era's, those presidents who got it. Lowered taxes and watched FEDERAL SPENDING. From Kennnedy to Reagen to even.....Clinton.
Hope everyone still playing the game is doing well. And I wish the best for all during these tough economic times.

Peace

You may have been a complete asshole to me when you left, but I completely agree with you on this Dee. I'm counting the days until the people in this country who voted for him thinking he would turn this country around realize how fucked up things have become.

Its not hard to fix the problems in this country. Its actually very very simple. Heres how you can do it in 10 steps.

1: No more global military bases. Do we really need over 1 million troops stationed across the globe? No. Eliminate 100+ billion a year easily, as well as increasing the world's opinion of us. This also eliminates the #2 cause of terrorism against us.

2: Stop funding and supporting Israel. They whine about the holocaust, yet they perpetuate the same genocidal type killings against Palestinians. This is not acceptable. Besides, they are financially raping us, so why should we be their friends?

3: Legalize drugs. This eliminates more than 50% of our prison inmates, which vastly lowers taxes. It eliminates the DEA, which vastly lowers our taxes. It creates new industries, which creates jobs and massive tax dollars. It creates tax dollars much like cigarette/alcohol sin taxes. It eliminates law enforcement's need to stomp on rights to get arrests. It also gets rid of gangs and drug cartels.

4: Offer unconditional friendship to countries that are our enemies now, such as North Korea and Iran. Tell them, fine, if you want nuclear power to better your country, we will help you with it. Send technicians there to help with the building of power plants, but also to keep an eye on weaponization and report it if it occurs.

5: Heavily subsidize "sustainable" energy, such as solar power, as well as refining production techniques. Right now these technologies are highly expensive. Lowering the costs of it greatly would enable more people to afford it, as well as ensuring companies put more thought into how to make it more effective and better. After all, how can you go wrong with free energy?

6: Promote cannabis. Do you really think murderers would murder if they were stoned? Nope, they'd be too busy playing videogames and toking it, instead of picking up a gun and wanting to kill. Why kill and then kill yourself if you have weed to smoke? Also, people wouldn't get cancer if they could smoke weed instead of cigarettes. Cigarettes prevent apoptosis, which destroys cancerous cells. Marijuana promotes apoptosis. Oops, did I just mention that I found the cure for cancer? Shhhhh, don't tell anybody, in the name of population control!

7: Allow children more rights. If they don't want to be in a religious school, where they learn that condoms don't prevent STDs, and that the Earth is only 6000 years old, or that the bible is the law of the land.... they shouldn't have to. Education is the priority... and having a parent trying to block information is a very... very... VERY bad thing. I'd much rather a child able to pick his own school. Children aren't second class citizens. They aren't property. Children should be able to make decisions regarding their own lives. However, a parent is necessary to help guide them. But a parent shouldn't be the one to make extreme decisions.

8: Free cable internet, TV, and phone service across the nation. This isn't expensive, and it isn't hard. It would provide a TON of jobs. It would spread a massive wealth of information via google and wikipedia to people who never had it before. Classes could be given easily enough to show people who aren't PC literate on how to use the PC to gain knowledge.

9: Father's rights need to improve. A father should be able to have the option to push for an abortion, and if the woman chooses not to have it, he should be exempt from financial responsibility for the child. A father should also have equal custody chance as the mother, which is rare.

10: Better male birth control than condoms! Something like a topical cream you rub on your balls which destroys your jizz for a week. It could work by preventing flagellate production by semen so they can't transport themselves through the vajayjay.

11: Everybody deserves housing. A program similiar to habitat for humanity, yet slightly tweaked, could easily solve this problem. Say you help build 20 houses, you get a free house of your own! These houses could all be built "green", which helps the environment. Also, a project like this would help community relations greatly. It would get people off the street doing crime, and into helping their neighbors. They would have a reason to do so, as well.

There are many, many more common sense ideas such as these that congress isn't intelligent enough to realize. That is why we need to get the antiquated wrinkly conservative (im)moralist greedy powerhungry retards out of office and get intelligent people in. For the sake of our country.

Too bad it'll never happen. America is going to crash, because of the people on the left side of the IQ bell curve.

A wish list from someone who rather the US turn in to Switzerland than being the greatest country this earth has ever known.
Getting rid of a military complex while China and Russia are trying to establish a sphere of influence in our own hemisphere is scary. As for one of your last comments about getting rid of conservatives and implying they are old white and wrinkly. I'm neither white old or wrinkly. My parents aren't white, but abit old. But they have been over the years politically inactive. Until a year from now. Because they will vote after losing almost 50% of their 401k and investments.
Conservatisim is something that is simple and believable. Lower taxes, less govt and INDIVIDUAL freedom. Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Giving away things for free isn't in that equation. Free internet? How about free housing for all?( oh wait fanny mae and freddie mac did that and see where that got us) Free car? Free Food? Free Clothes? Free (insert here)? No productive civilization can exist and maintain there freedoms being a none productive civilization. Childrens rights? Children are children and are under the supervision of parents until they hit the age of majority...18. Todays laws on abortion allow a 12 yr old girl to get a abortion with no parental input at all. How can a society that approves of killing babies in the womb and then tell 12 yr old girls to have sex and kill the baby after wards be successful? How does kids having kids help? Recently seeing 6 HS girls on tv all getting pregnant on purpose. Bet those mothers and kids are gonna be productive. All the while taking tax dollars to raise those kids.
Most of your thoughts come straight out of the Marx's Revolution.
I ask one question to anyone that thinks the mantra of Whats yours is mine and whats mine is yours. Name a successful global power that has ever succeeded in these goals.

And one thought on the defense of Israel. People who don't believe we should defend them are usually anti semites. Thats just the truth. A country of people who signed Peace Accords only to see a people (palestianians) who use terror as a tactic to achieve their means. What are those means? To keep their people in poverty and to keep people angry to wage their 100 year war for land. Do you actually think Hamas or Hezbollah or Islamic Jihad or the PLO could live side by side with their Jewish neighbors? Israel has every right to protect their people from foreign threats. It just so happens Israel's foreign threats are but a few miles from their door steps, not across a sea like the US is from its enemies.

ON green technology. When the snobs from the Democratic party(Sen. Ted Kennedy) who have homes on Martha Vineyard who don't allow wind farms finally start accepting those windfarms then we can talk. Just seems here in KS, I can drive home to see my parents, and I will see....Wind farms along the interstate. I can see oil wells pumping in the center of the state. And then I can see natural gas plants in about 3 different areas of the state. All the while KS does have a few coal plants that provide energy for some of the harsh winters and boiling summers we have..

While I am a conservative, I lean more towards libertarian in most of my views. Govt is NOT the answer Govt is the problem. So when Obama comes and asks for another 4 trillion dollars that people on here who are 20-32 who don't have kids yet....will be paying the bill long after Obama is gone. Pres. Obama wasn't elected to mold and shape the US into his own image. He is suppose to be a steward of the Constitution and the people of the United States of America.

Well Pyro, didn't think calling me a asshole was needed. I have moved on from this game. I came back last june-july and played until the end of Aug. I neither bothered you or anyone in ER. I only spoke with Benjix to be honest. And while in Apoc I was quite happy w/ their leadership and the new friendships I made while there. I made many mistakes on this game over the years. Many of which was taking the game to serious. I came from genre in gaming that was rooted in shit talking. Madden, Socom, and NBA 2k series. I only wish the best for those who still play the game and have to deal w/ botters from PSN.

Peace everyone. Don't let the 'MAN' get you down.

#3. ok yea sure only a doper would want legal dope. a sign of how far peopls inteligence drops over this crap. 50% of the populas in our prision systems is there becasue of they broke the law. you know what 99% of them are there for that. if you make it legal guess waht those people would just break a diffrent law. you cant make all drugs legal. and the ones they become legal would be taxed out the wazoo. and regulated to the point were the effect wasnt the same. so the drugs that were't legal would boom thus creating a newer problem. so your legal dope just created a country of stoners who are now hooked on a substence and are willing to do anything to get it. good job.

#4. friendship? are you dence. yea lets simply say sure iran heres the keys to a nuke factory have fun. after they blow someone up and the globe is rocked by these people . who now have nuclar defence and are willing to blow themselves to the moon just to prove a point. who do you think thell blme for giving them the keys?

#5. free energy? theres no profit in free energy. and how does one support the economy with free? thas why that kind of power is still not everywere theres no money in it after setup.

#6. i think your fried brain already for got your own #3. drugs kill brain cells kids.

#7. there kids. they should do what there told. if i wanted my kid to learn those things guess waht.... cough cough i will teach him!!! if i want him to learn the stuff the school teaches get this hell learn it. or ill beat his arse. its why i sent him there. i dont care what he wants hes a child.

#8. ahhh now the dope head not only wants legal dope he wants free cable and net so he will never have to work again. some some goverment weed and play wow on his free net. next its free food and medical. yea so not only can it be legal but now he can get free legal medical weed.

#9. i will give you a little leaway on this. perental rights is a issue that needs a little work. just becasue it fell out from between her legs makes her no better of a parent then me. prime example octi-mom. enough said.

#10. its called a vasectimy snip snip done. duh

#11. the problme witht is is simple. were is the funding for the houses going to come from? the air? and no im not paying for a bum to have a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. while i strugle to pay for my own. but if eveyone had a free place to live. SHUT UP! once again your living in star trek. its called a economy. now you want your legal dope, your free cable, net and now a free house, man what are you going to do for your life if everything is just handed to you? i know NOTHING. and this is why people with more sence run things. so the world doesnt fall apart around you on a daily basis.
now get clean put dont the controler and get a life.. wanting everything free and being able to control every aspect of your life from the time your a fetus. next its someone wiping your butt and playing the videogames for you so u can simply focus on canibus...........

I've had this discussion about nine thousand times in the past few months. Let's take it from the top.
First, your Russia/China boogeyman. First off, they can do whatever they want. Second, this is the exact fearmongering that the Bush administration performed and sold so well. I'm surprised you didn't pepper in some warnings of a repeat of 9/11, just for good measure. It comes down to a basic belief that you individually hold about America's role in the world. Most Americans believe that we have not only the right, but the duty to be the global hegemon. I can't understand where most Americans get this sense of superiority. This arrogance is why the rest of the world essentially hates Americans. We wear this hatred as badge of honor, as a sign that clearly we must be the best, since the huddled masses in the rest of the inferior world hate us. It takes come seriously big balls to think that you are the best in the world, not having experienced anything else and being entirely uneducated about any other place. Americans have no problem doing this; we won WWII, had the rest of the world by the balls, and decided we could then be the top dog. I don't expect you to care that you are part of the arrogant American problem; you'll likely relish the title. That is exactly what disappoints me.

Next, I'll take up your "free shit for lazy people" argument. First, I just want to get something straight. Free roads: Good. Free cops: good. Free public schools: good. Free healthcare: bad. Free access to the most revolutionary and cheap technology of our lifetimes (the internet): bad. Free food for those who have none: bad. You don't tell the poor people to get their kids out of the schools that your tax dollars pay for, or tell them to get off the roads that your taxes pay for. It's just what you know. The basic idea of conservatism and Americanism; change is bad, different is bad. This comes down to yet another fundamental belief that is personal to each of us. You buy the idea that anyone can do anything, if they try hard enough. This is, in reality, not as true as it sounds or as people like to say. We all may have the same chances of being successful, but for some it just is not as feasible. Sure, some poor people end up doing well. The best most will ever hope to do is just slightly better than their parents did before them. I (and I don't know a thing about you, but I can only assume that you also) have many chances that a poor person does not. In fact, I have done a lot of screwing around and am still sitting in a position where I will do quite well in life. Had I been poor, I would not have had such an open path to all the education that I have. Sure, affirmative action, yadda yadda. Point is, there is a legacy of losing for poor people. All they know is losing and being kicked while they're down. In fact, I think this really is part of the larger problem for America. There needs to be a huge value placed on advanced education. Diplomas mean that you can show up and stay awake at a school. If we have expertise and actual knowledge... well, who the hell knows, maybe our economy would enter a renaissance and we the middle class would be truly open to all, and would hold a much higher percentage of the population. That kind of went off on a tangent, but that's where I'm coming from in terms of social programs being good and having compassion and empathy for the people unfortunate enough to be born into poverty. I expect that this empathy won't be something you value, as is the tradition with Americans/conservatives. But, someday we as a country will take a step forward in that area.

Israel is way more complex than that dude. It's easy to make a strawman out of all of Palestine by pointing at only Hamas. They are the militant group that IS a terrorist organization. Is all of Iraq "bad" because there are terrorists there? Fatah is the political party of Palestine, and there is nothing terroristic about them. Palestine has legitimate arguments, and should not be discarded because there are groups that are going about achieving these ends in a bad way. I'm not saying either side is wrong, I'm just saying that it isn't so easily made into a good guy- bad guy scenario.

Green technology is obvious. Don't need to bother touching it.

I'm never sure what to make of the "gov't is the problem" arguments. Clearly, you are saying that you think that a few social good should be protected (national defense, infrastructure, emergency services, etc). The problem is, people can then do things that are detrimental to society but which are also legal. The super hands-off approach is what led to the current economic slide. I'm hugely in favor of civil liberties. This means I agree that intrusion on the individual rights of citizens should be stopped. I am not in favor of being hands off in regards to the economy or other macro-scale items. The actions of a handful of lying fucks caused what we have now. If there was governmental oversight, this may have been stopped. This, yet again, comes down to a fundamental belief that is personal to each of us. This is the belief about the role of government. I believe that the government is elected as a reflection of the will of the people. This is a basic requirement. I'm a cynic, so I often jibe about how the gov't doesn't really do this at all. Regardless, this is what we like to think we have. As the acting will of the people, I feel fine allowing the government the freedom to protect important rights for Americans from social bad. Things like shady economic dealings. You probably think that if we allow the gov't more power, it will lead down a slippery slope to Orwell's Oceania. That hasn't happened in the rest of the western democracies who have been doing this longer than us. This value comes from the same fear that Americans have of everything unfamiliar. We're scared that the gov't will get too powerful and be evil. Once again, one day we'll take a step forward. The sands of time move slowly, but it will happen someday.

As for Obama, I don't know what to tell you. You don't like his actions in bailing out the economy. Fine. But he has to do something. This is not a ship that will right itself, as shown by Pres. Hoover. Tax cuts as usual won't cut it. Not only is proactivity necessary, but it was mandated by the people last November. He was put in place to take his shot at righting the ship. In truth, there is no way to know how the market will react. If the economy comes out doing fabulous, he will be history's hero. If it tanks further, he will be the next Hoover. He would not be deserving of either label. It goes much further than anything he can do. It essentially rests on the shoulders of the American people.

And hippie liberal guy will take his leave now. Chew on that wall of text, babay!

I feel like you, along with a lot of people, seem to have a lot of misguided anger towards the government. That isn't to say injustices don't exist (I agree that they do!), but if you get angry, I feel you should get angry at the right (or wrong...?) institution.

Don't get angry at Obama. Get angry at the system which forces him to bend his promises and ideals. And when I say... 'forces', I do not mean I am a conspiracy theorist or that is literally what is happening, but rather that because the system is the way it is, he has no CHOICE but to bend on his original statements. As you probably know, anyone subject to media attention is likely a lot different than they are displayed. For all we know, Obama could very well believe extremely strongly in his campaign promises... However, a few problems exist, and yes they lie within our political system.

We are a 'winner take all' bipartisan system in which there is a historical 'right' and a historical 'left', and any other 'options' might as well not even be there. What does this result in? Two candidates sticking strongly with their side while also being forced to bend just a little bit to gain the support of the ambiguous majority. Before any campaigning occurred, Obama and McCain knew they had the extremists of both sides -- that is, the people heavily in support of the Democratic and Republican party -- so what did they do? They needed to bend and try to gain the support of the more moderate majority, which led to both Obama AND McCain adopting VERY SIMILAR stances on most popular issues. That is to say... in the end, they are NOT very different in their political views.

Add to this the fact that most of campaigning is endorsed by large corporations, and you may realize why their ideals changed along with the campaign and subsequent aftermath. While there IS a cap on how much a corporation itself may donate to a campaign, corporations can get around this by having individuals donate to the campaign, and the entire company simply endorsing the certain candidate. In this way, candidates besides the main two rarely are given a voice, and are literally barred from it -- There is a slowly growing movement involving 'opening the debates' to third party candidates that's been going on for a while now...

The reason I say not to get angry with Obama is because I don't think he himself is being insincere. In fact, I hope he was being honest when he made all of those idealistic statements... but the mistake he made (which he may realize now) is that he made PROMISES -- promises that left the youth of this country feeling hopeful and enthusiastic about CHANGE (change...change..change...)... But what the youth do not realize (that hardened politicians and older adults will) is that he CANNOT keep his promises -- even if he wants to! May be he didn't even realize this... But should his campaign fail to do what it promised, hopeful young adults may bounce back and become extremely angry (like you are) about all of this, and blame him, call him a liar for the sake of votes... etc.

The more extreme may even use this example to show how this sort of 'change' is bad... That is to say, racist people may say, "See, I knew a black president was a bad thing!" (And if you notice -- Obama has been praised as being the first African American president, but does ethnicity truly matter when to become president you must relinquish most of your ethnic and cultural ties in order to fit into the white Anglo-Saxon ideal of a 'good leader'? We may have made history with a president of African American heritage, but I won't be satisfied until I see -anyone- in the power elite -- corporate, political, or military -- who is allowed to be who they are and STILL be able to climb to the top.)

That said -- don't be angry at Obama. It's the system that really pressures him that perhaps he wasn't anticipating when he made all of the promises he did. If anything, he's probably hurting as much as you are -- realizing that enacting all of these great transitions is a lot more difficult than he previously bargained for.

That said, I did not vote for either Obama or McCain. I voted for Nader -- and had I been asked to vote for either Obama or McCain, I would've voted for Obama, just because I realize that his rhetoric and hopefulness is definitely something the ideology of our country needs right now.

1. boogieman? China operating in Cuba along with Russia. Russian Bombers being intercepted by NATO Canadian Jets in northern Canada. China going to Venezula,Cuba and Iran to establish their influence and get cheap oil. Call me a boogieman or the theory a boogieman, fact is these things are happening. As for fearmongering....what has Obama done to date to get his agenda passed. Can you say 'Crisis' 50 times in one speech?

2. You don't know a thing about me. Do i relish or CARE what people in the world think of lil old me? NO. Those people aren't getting up in the morning to go to work to pay my bills or taxes. Those people don't have any say on how I live my life. So I wish the same from them. Unlike the enlightened like yourself I'm a average joe. I read books, watch liberal shows on MSNBC and CNN and listen to conservative talk radio. I don't need someone to tell me how to think or feel. I educate myself by listening/watching all view points. Regardless if I agree or not. But for you to assume anything about me shows a typical LIBERAL way of putting me in a box and putting a label on it. Your either a victim or the bad/selfish guy.

3.I grew up in a family that comes from the liberal word "minority" instead of being just a american. I grew up seeing racism and being the subject of said behavior. I also started working at the age of 12 w/ my parents cleaning offices at night. That money went to put myself and siblings into a catholic school. All this with a mother who was secretary and a father who is a vietnam vet and hard labor worker. My father never wanted a hand out from the govt if he could make the money by working hard. So your liberal assumptions....are silly. You work hard and keep yourself clean from the law. You can and most do make the most of themselves. Social programs aren't the answer....they are the crutch that keeps people down.

4.Israel....I named more than Hamas...There is Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and the PLO. All have jewish blood on their hands. Hamas just happens to be the duly elected party of the people of Palestine. If those people didn't want to be considered a terrorist state, then don't vote for a KNOW TERRORIST ORG.

5. Green Tech..... after seeing recently that Sen. Feinstein of California was blocking passage of a solar farm in California, I don't see how those same exact people who don't want to drill offshore or put solar farms in the DESERT, should be pushing for Wind farms on the plains of my state. It makes no sense. Don't ask to ruin the land in the midwest if you can't do whats in the public interests in your own state.

6. While you may think no regulation is the reason for the current economic climate. I'd ask you to look into Fannie mae and Freddie mac. With those two govt banks giving loans to those who couldn't afford them and the likes of Sen Dodd and Congressman Frank, calling out the Reps who tried to get more regulation on them in 04 and 05. Frank is the dirtiest of them all. People should be taking bus tours to the congressmans house to voice their concerns to him. NOT AIG. Don't get me wrong....there were dirty hands of both parties on the financial sector.

7.Giving Govt more power. I believe since the Surv. Act, every democrat and liberal were crying foul and saying Bush was spying on them. I'm sure Bush was worried about hippies talking to fellow liberals about the eroding of civil liberties. Funny how the program continues today, Bush just happens to be gone. And there is no outrage at Obama to get rid of the law. Oh he can't ...both parties passed a law allowing it.

8.Please tell me where Obama said he was going to run a deficit equal to what Bush did in 8 years. Obama will surpass Bush in overall spending this year. Bush had 8 years. Obama in less than 2months has equalled and will surpass with a few more supplemental bills.

Now one last statement and i'm off. I made alot of assumptions about you in this answer. I don't know you don't care to know you. I again get up in the morning and work to pay MY bills. Unfortunately its to the point where I'm getting up in the morning to pay your bills too, to pay for this Utopia. To pay for this Social justice. To take from those who do, to give to those who don't.
I have to look no further than the sorry states of Michigan and California. Both are run from the local level to the state level by liberals. Both states are bleeding jobs and people. Both states have welfare states run by the state. When California is paying everyones bills including illegals...its no wonder they have to tax so much and are bankrupt....all for the Utopia that a village can build. Roads Teachers and so on aren't free. State and local taxes pay for that. Housing internet car aren't and should not be free.

PS:I'm for a hand up, not a hand out! But individuals have to make that choice.
And I won't chew on anything. Liberalism is about how you feel, its never about the results.
War on Poverty is the longest war to date. With trillions of dollars going to social programs for over 60years, people are still bitching because all that money has produced no results.

Ryo: typical to throw in that if you don't agree w/ Obama somehow, somewhere you must be racist. How about not agreeing with his idea of govt in peoples lives being the straw that breaks the camels back? As for not holding the Pres. to his promises. He didn't promise me a thing. He promised those who voted for him. He is a typical politician. He's not from the heavens, he's not the savior. He is a Chicago politician who did what he had to, to get to where he is today.
To say he has no CHOICES is silly. I guess just Bush had choices. To not hold Obama responsible for his rhetoric and lack of choices is what will help him blame everyone for his lack of action. He's the Pres of the US. He wanted this job. And I remember a President who broke a campaign promise and was a 1 term President. I guess those people who didn't vote for his second term should have had your logic. It wasn't his fault, it was a different institutions fault. That Pres. was Pres. GHWBush, remember...."NO NEW TAXES". Not being able to stick that statement allowed a 3rd party cand. to take enough conservative votes to split the vote to allow a 43% President, named Clinton.

When you say "Ryo" are you referring to me? Because, if so, I never said anyone was being a racist if they disagree with any of his points. That would be incredibly ignorant and linear. What I was saying is the incredibly extremist people may see his failure to enact his promises as evidence why this country isn't 'ready' for change. Then I went on to explain that even IF Obama is of African American descent, does it truly matter if he is forced to be the stereotypical white male in every other way? I mean -- just look at Michelle.

I'm not saying he's choice-less. We're all capable of making choices. But what I am saying here is that a president is not as powerful as he is shown to be -- I won't go ahead and say a president is a mere 'figure-head', but you'd be surprised how little power he actually has. Even before he was inaugurated, he began choosing cabinet members, many of which are from years past... That's not very much of a change.

You are right in saying his promises only truly apply to people who voted for him, but that *slight* majority certainly contains a group of young people who believed his hopeful rhetoric... How do I know this? I've experienced it first-hand. The night he was elected, there was an impromptu march going on at my university -- and apparently this happened at many other places -- There were illegal fireworks outside my window, and at least 500 people by the time the march had reached clear across campus, starting with just ten. My favorite 'chant' of all the ones they did was definitely, "JOBS AFTER COLLEGE!" People were/are hopeful, and if he fails to deliver, they may LOSE that hope as strongly as they once felt it... And become intensely angry at the president. These were people who voted for him, who supported him, and believe that he will change the world. But... if he fails to do that, it will be a very big letdown.

Those of us who did not vote for him, whether we be politically apathetic, against the Republican/Democrat only system, or a conservative, may take this opportunity to scoff and say, "Hah, I told you so! His promises were bullshit!" But what one has to remember is that nothing is set in stone, and a large majority of the world is interpretation. Just because he made a lot of promises that moved a large amount of people does not mean he's any better or worse than anyone else... It's just how we all view the situation. Honestly, no matter who was elected, things weren't going to just change immediately. Though we may be hoping for quick changes that save the nation in years, it may take decades, and people have to recognize that.

I see why you think this matters. You don't see why it actually doesn't matter. Cuba is a destitute country because of the embargoes that we have against them. If they have to bring in unsavory-types to lighten their load, they have every right. Maybe you think they deserve everything we have imposed on them. That doesn't really matter. If we can put military bases all over the world, who are we to say that Cuba can't entertain other countries just because we don't like them. We can grumble about it with displeasure, but not much else would be appropriate. I hadn't heard about the Russian planes in Canada, but I can't seem to make myself become too concerned about it. Russia and Northern Canada mesh to be a huge wasteland of snow and cold. They weren't flying over Toronto, so I don't know what the huge threat was. I see this being a problem that doesn't need to be repeated, but not a cause for outrage or concern.

Okay, so you don't care that the rest of the world hates us. One might argue that is a different breed of arrogance in itself. That's not really important though. You say you don't need someone to tell you how to think or feel, but it sounds to me more like you do just choose to have two different extreme positions telling you what to do. Maybe you've read something that would help you form an ideology that isn't spoon-fed from Rush or Olbermann. You said listened/watched, so that's what I'm going off of. All I'm saying is just because you have a show on a cable news network (please god kill cable news). If you really do want something more journalistic, with a perspective on how things really are instead of just spinning something to your own side, I'd watch Newshour or BBC World News on PBS. Ratings drive these cable guys... just keep that in mind.

Lol, why is the word "minority" liberal, exactly? So, you came from a less privileged home. I would hope that by itself would open your eyes to how much some people need help. Your father wouldn't have loved a job that the government created to go build some infrastructure? Your mother wouldn't have loved to have been able to take you or herself to the doctor and not worry about being able to make rent? You sound like since you have made it out of the hard times, that other people should have to also. If the government cared about poor people as much as they should, you would have had a more level playing field. You would rather work your fingers to the bone than take help from the gov't. Work them away; I won't feel a thing. I just think that the people who would a better and more certain chance at moving out of the poor circumstances should have better options.

All I'm saying is that Palestine has a point, too. You can't just shove them away and say "too bad for you". They aren't going as quietly or quietly as the Native Americans (who didn't go very quietly in their own right).

Fair enough. I would have to agree that everyone needs to sacrifice to make it fair, and also most productive. The issue of doing this is a no-brainer though. Just wanted to note- drilling offshore is not green tech. It's just more drilling for oil.

The reason for the current economic climate really is the Americans, if you want to trace it all the way back. People taking on loans that they couldn't pay. Sub-primes are just as much the blame of the borrower (more, in my opinion). Had there been more regulation, subprime lending could have been controlled. It's just the upshot of your argument- there's two sides to every coin.

I don't know.. I'm still outraged about it. Obama is dealing with the economy right now, so maybe that's it. Maybe he doesn't care that much about it. Most politicians don't seem to hate it, though. They keep passing laws when old FISA acts lapse. Whatever the case, my outrage never stopped.

QUOTE
8.Please tell me where Obama said he was going to run a deficit equal to what Bush did in 8 years. Obama will surpass Bush in overall spending this year. Bush had 8 years. Obama in less than 2months has equalled and will surpass with a few more supplemental bills.

This argument is really dumb. Of course the deficit is going to be high. Bush handed the baton just as the bottom was falling out in the economy. Unless the incoming President decided to not pass any aid money, the deficit was inevitably going to be huge. I'm not blaming Bush, but I am saying that Obama isn't wrong for passing the aid.

I want to know what makes you draw the line at roads and schools. Why don't you feel that healthcare for everyone is as important as an education? Why not internet service to every family? The internet has an incredible power to educate. It could do a ton of good. I'd rather not hand out cold hard cash; I like the idea of helping with the basics.

Touchy, touchy... I would argue that you could make the same retarded argument about conservatism. At least, in America, social conservatism is grounded in morals. Economic conservatism is grounded in a rabid self-interest. Liberalism isn't just about how you feel, and never results. That is pointless, and incredibly dumb to say. In my opinion, it is about equality and the common good. The war on poverty is not being won because for 60 years we have been putting a band-aid on a chainsaw wound. Fix the way you do social programs, and maybe you will get some better results.

Pot doesn't kill brain cells, bro. Good job believing everything you heard from DARE though. I guess they got lucky and caught a stupid one.

Alcohol, on the other hand, does effect brain cells. Maybe that's why you're half retarded.
