my original plan was to follow the path of a warrior, hit 30, and become a paladin. however, i've since become a paladin but found that i like my warrior better because of it's versatility. i got the "tanking" aspect of warrior down (maxed sword and evade skills and high parry and shield skills), yet the opposite side of my character lacks omph. i tried leveling up my skills with a centurion g. axe while i fought in yhoator this evening, but found i made no contact and got no skill points for any battle. anyone have suggestions on where or what i should train my axe on and which axe i should use?

Find the highest lvl mobs that you can solo without almost dieing at beat the living hell out of them

Ghelsba is an excellent place to level your skills as I have a 32 war friend, and that's where he did his

as well, for a Great Axe, look up the Neckchopper. You cna quest for it, or buy it if it's avaialable, normally Jeuno. goes for 40k on my server. Awesome axe I believe, and it will certainly give you a cut above the average with your WAR. LVL 30 Sturmwind hitting for over 200. nice

I was leveling up my H2H at Yughott Grotto with my lv 30 War. From lv 13- I think lv 30 no problem, getting gil in the process.

If you are 0 in Great axe, then you will hardly hit an IT mob at all, and when you do it will be for almost no damage. Do this, equip you most skilled item, then look at your attack number on the equipment menu. Then, equip great axe. If you are 0, then your attack will be in the 30-35 range o.O

Do what I did: level it up to like 20-30 in ghelsba while making gil off the dead orcs. Then, head to La Thiene and kill Akbaba, worms, sheep and gobbies. Sheep seemed to work the best for me, since worms are sparse at best. Then, head to Valkurm in the 40 range and kill rabbits and ambushers. around 45-50 or so, head to qufim and kill more worms. I maxed my skill in qufim at lvl 23, when my great axe skill was 45ish. It took a few hours in a pty, but it worked. Nobody seemed to notice either, best not to tell them As long as you are the meat shield for your party, they probably wont mind that you miss more than normal, and you wont be relied upon for dealing damage of a serious nature.

You'll be capped in no time.

yeah. honestly if youre only level 30 , you can solo the skill up to skill level 40 or so easily and if you return to grouping it will skill up well enough. thats what i did with my thief (dont tell anyone). if youre in yhoator (or yuhtunga) most people wont even notice. like turgon said dont tell them hehehheheheheheh -__--_;-;;

Yeah... I did that with my Axe... ^^; They were wondering why I missed so much, I was just like, "Man, I can't hit the broad side of a barn." And they would laugh, and we would move on ^^ Thou of course my skill was 55 when I started PT'ing to raise it further. I went from 20-55 in verious places ^^

well i've gotten my level up to the high 40's now. my attack power with it is still kinda low; around 80-90. although i kill faster with my sword, i can see the damage difference per hit. i'm thinking once i have a maxed g axe skill i can be a versatile tanker and damage dealer. i haven't upped my 1h axe skill yet. argh. looks like i still have much more work to do. thank you for the replies guys

now i may not be one to talk cause when i lvled my war all i used was Great Sword but I didn't stay with war so it didn't matter to me but I have a friend who did stick with war and he always carries with him a g. ax, sword, and gr. sword and keeps all 3 maxed and choses his weapon depending on which suites the grp best for skill chains and whether or not he's tanking so that would be my suggestion to you. good luck not many stick with war as a main job
