Yeah, like I said I quit way back when the BLM was wanted in every party.
I retrieved my character a bit ago and was told by my LS mates that BLM is now primarily a solo job. I was all 'derr wat'.
Problem 1: I've read guides, but some things still aren't clear to me. First of all, I'm a 55 /rdm with 71+28 INT. I have my Moldy Earrings and AF Gloves still. I'm also using an Ice Staff. Now, the guide says Pso'Xja is a good place to solo and I see a lot of positive testimonies on the guide. However, I'm getting a half-resist every 3 or 4 bats. I mean, even when I'm using Freeze with 99 INT with double Ice weather not on a Firesday I get resisted. Bwuh?
Would using Quake help me out here? I'm too poor to keep buying Reraise crap so the run back after making just 300 EXP is not very time efficient >=/
Problem 2: OK, am I justified in being TICKED about this? This one JP chick using the same camp often is Anon with no comment. Now, how are people trying to see if this camp is taken supposed to know she's using it when she's Anon? >=/ I didn't know when I first me there and had to wait an hour for her to log off. I tried giving her a Tell to and couldn't communicate my question to her with the Auto-translator at all. I'm thinking about taking the bats while she's healing because I think this is poor soloing etiquette.
Problem 3: Rapture is going to 'replace' FFXI!? I picked a bad time to pick this up again =/
Thanks for any input in advance.

As far as camps go, just send a message like "[pet] whatever the position is [camp]?" Usually anyone who knows how to camp pets well knows that it is in their best interest to let others know they're there. If this person refuses to answer, but you know they often solo chances are it won't be worth your time.
Most people are pretty polite about camps just because the competition on single beastmaster camps sucks. If you're waiting for a 1.5 minute pop with shoddy pathing it can only end badly by competing, but some people will still try to chase you out.
Check the levels again for your camp, if you're on the low side might just be better to go to the previous camp and getting a slower level. If you're getting hardcore resists the camp might just be too hard for your current int/ele skill.

I tried again a bit ago. After waiting 1 1/2 hours for the JP chick to leave, I got 7k exp before dying. I died because it was Firesday and the gob saw his pet about to be owned.
Another note is that double Ice weather actually helped loads this time. Monstrous difference.

You're getting to the level where you can pull in some serious exp/hour manaburning at Vunkerl. I think you can go there at 57ish with some other BLM and kill gigas tiger pets. That'll last you well into your 60's.

you can also duo 55-60 at bibiki bay. if you stay at Pso'Xja i would suggest getting and earth staff and quake. quake can 1 shot the bats.
