there's enough DA%+ to use Ares' legs over Haidate,

For TP?

no

***Aurum Gauntlets - Meh, these are trash. As a WAR these are useless.
**Warrior's Mufflers - Great for melee and so-so for WS.
****Adaman Mufflers - ACC+4 and ATT+10, they're what the Aurum Gauntlets failed at.
**Hecatomb Mittens - You already know.
*****Ares Gauntlets - Amazing as an ACC+10 piece and STR/VIT+4 piece for WS.
**Askar Manoples - DEX buildable, and the 3rd most Haste a WAR can get in the hand-slot.
*Dusk Gloves - Only if you've got a Haste build and got Suppa.

Not quite sure how Ares managed to beat all other choices for WS hands but I think they're pretty crap.

I'd also like to add the new Augmented Barone Manopolas to list of hands. Probably the best hands you can get in the game for WAR TP now (debatable vs. Dusk +1)

Also, you left Askar legs off the list sad.gif. They're really good and actually better than barone + thick breeches you mentioned.

aurum are free, that is probably why they are getting so much love

These feet will be the end of me. Rare drop from my experience along with a long list of people who want them ahead of you. Sure Achamoth is easy, but getting all the zeni for your own pop is so fucking repetitive.

Armed Gears. That and a T2 (marid) on the same path can be soloed by a RDM or easily low manned. And the cheese horder for T1 is very popular because of that nice BLU sword.

Armed Gears can be a pain up the ass though.

1/8 total between Acamoth and Armed gears getting my pair. 0/4 AG, 1/4 Aca. However in the end they were well worth it, and the profit from Organics was just a bonus, plus all my Sam friends enjoyed the free Tomoes.

The same can be said about Armed Gears, except for the fact that Achamoth is easier. And not everyone has RDM 75, and i don't have BLU lvled.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I'm not a big fan of the gigas bracelets when it comes to weapon skills which rely on crits going off to cause most of the damage. All that -DEX is just an eyesore. I'd stick with your WAR AF2 hands until you can obtain some Hecatomb Mittens. Adaman Mufflers aren't a bad substitute either, especially if you're a fan of meat. The 4 points of accuracy would be more beneficial than the extra 2 attack from the AF2 gloves. All of the other suggestions for the foot slot were pretty much spot on.

In regards to the haste setup vs. ares setup, I would say the haste setup is more reliable simply because the haste is constant and due to WAR's gear choices makes it more feasible to create a meat build. I'm not a parser person myself, but I found myself generally having much better results building for haste/accuracy/DEX and eating meat than I did trying to just pump up the basic numbers of attack and STR. The added double attack of the Ares setup does look very tempting, but I feel that it just wont quite stand up to the tried and true setup we've had for so long. I've not merited against someone in full Ares either, but there might be a reason for that outside of the cost to upgrade issue. tongue.gif

I'm not trying to disuade anyone from obtaining Ares gear for their WAR by any means. People should collect the gear they want and if they're having fun meriting with some LS buddies and toying with different gears to keep things fresh then who really cares? But if you're looking to be optimal regardless, you might want to look elsewhere than using an all-out Ares setup or substituting parts of it in for other gears.
