edit: Bah, just saw the nin/dnc tank thread, though it is primarily about end game as opposed to experience with it at lower levels. Search function fails when I misspell sleep.gif

First, my experience is very situational. I know that /dnc is nigh exclusive to solo or low man. I am not in the least arguing for /dnc to be a common sub, however, I found when facing aoes /dnc to be far superior to /war for hate through Divine Waltz.

Again, not arguing for /dnc to be a normal sub, but just that it has more hate control than /war seems to in the 50s.

So the setup was a bit odd. 2 x sam/war , war/sam, nin/war, nin/dnc, a brd/whm, and a 75 rdm I was db'ing. We were sync'd 50~51 in quicksand roaming on ants. I initially opted for /dnc because I dislike main healing parties when I can't F# target people.

Anywho, with all the antica aoes and cones, everyone was often missing 70+ hp. Almost anytime I would DW for 71*4~6 hp I would take hate from the other nin. I found it interesting since even after voke/enfeebles from the nin (he was actively trying and keeping hate) I would immediately take hate. Even when the war would pull hate, a DW would tend to pull hate. Coupled with animated flourish I could easily take hate at any point in the fight. It seemed like steps and sambas pulled a considerable amount of hate as well. While less offensive than nin/war, it seems like a powerful combo if hate is an issue and there's only 1 other healer.

The war is still 51 so we'll probably do a couple more QC roaming parties as war/nin/nin, so I plan to figure out how well I will fair in the next several parties. I doubt it will do as well against lesser colibris, but will still probably sub since I'm probably going to be the main healer in all of them anyways.

sam/dnc is a pretty damn good tank as well. just make sure to prep for the role, defense food and add some enmity gear into your build and you can keep up pretty damn well in DD but you can also keep minimum healing in check. it is somewhat akin to pld play style only more DD and less cure interruptions. I can't wait to get a soboro.
