Hey guys, not sure how many 3d gurus we have out in this community, but with Autodesk buying out ALIAS and 3dMax and MAYA being part of the same company now, anyone know if MAYA 2009 can import .MQO like 3dmax does? I bought MAYA 2009 and I'm about to get it installed on my computer next week (they shipped it to my old billing address, douches)
I guess easiest way to check is to search the file extension on MAYA help index but I'm not studio right now and my curiosity just piqued.

It sounds like it should be able to, I couldn't really find much on Highend3d.
I'm more of a Max user though ;;.

Only solutions I've come up with is writing a MEL script that breaks the file apart and adapts it to a ascii file (in other words, building the plugin yourself). That makes my head hurt just imagining, at midterm I spent a full day pulling an ascii file apart changing the file path names to relative path names, just to find out the next morning in class that MAYA has a UI that can do that in like 5 minutes. I am also into 3D and was wondering how to use models from Model Viewer in a 3D package to animate them. I personally prefer XSI but I use Maya as well. Does anybody know how to bring models into these programs so that I can rig and animate them? Sorry, I'm an animator but am very noobish when it comes to technical stuff like this.
