So I'm close to getting BLU to 37. This is my first mage job for my Dragoon. However, I'm clueless to how I should set up my macros for it for when I solo. I was told Wyvern HP was important for Triggering Healing Breath, so I got some Wyvern HP equipment. So here's what I currently got
Drachen Armet
Drachen Brais
Wyvern Mail
Bomb Queen Ring
Chanoix's Gorget
So how should I set up macros? Also, what BLU spells should I be using for Dragoon? Death Ray is the only BLU spell I need to learn

I think Cocoon is the main reason people sub BLU to DRG with Foot kick being the best Wyvern breath trigger spell, though I think I'm missing a back up trigger spell (no blu subs lulz gimp me).
As far as macro goes, just put them all on at cast. If you had a Wyrm armet/Saurian helm, you'd want to put a /wait 2 or so after the initial spell to get the 50% HP trigger as well as the increase to breath. Also, +wyvern HP doesn't always kick in when you macro it in and out which is kind of a bummer. Best you can do is try and hope for the best (for some people it works 100% and others it's more 50/50).
Macro should look about like:
/equip head "Drachen Armet"
/equip other gears etc
/ma "Foot kick" <t>
/wait 4
/equip TP gears etc
But with all the correct gear and such in it (duh). As well as the BQ ring, macroing in more HP is always a benefit to raise that HB trigger as high as possible. Taking yourself from a 600 to an 800 max hp trigger could very well be the difference between getting yo shit fucked and not.

I dunno about anyone else, but I usually use Head butt for my HB trigger. The stun is nice when it lands to keep you from getting hit again before HBIII goes off.

I thought the stun proc on headbut was linked more to blue magic skill?
Anyway i use footkick for trigger + power attack for back up, power attack is just as good as foot kick.

Headbutt doesn't proc that often on stuff you'd probably be soloing as DRG/BLU but it will still proc at a decent rate. I think the rate was higher then a Platinum Grip (maybe even the +1). I use Foot Kick and Power Attack as my triggers as well.
My macro:
/equip Head "Drachen Armet"
/ma "Power Attack" <t>
/wait 2
/equip Head "Wyrm Armet"
/wait 3
/equip Head "Walahra Turban" <--- this can be swapped with whatever helm you normally use when soloing
My TP set includes Drachen Brais+1 though so I don't really worry about other +wyvern hp gear much. It's always been enough to keep me going non-stop along with Ethereal earring.
PS: For anything that doesn't do too much damage (meaning T and below), /RDM would work better because of Dia II.

I do that too...I trigger with any spell that I use. Including Pineapple Bomb which I normally use to pull Greater Colibri ^^;;
Cocoon recast is too high to use it as the main trigger though. The other three work better (Power Attack, Foot Kick and Headbutt).

Wild Carrot only if I'm the main healer in a party. Heal one person to trigger Healing Breath to heal another person. Kind of expensive for a trigger though. Solo-wise, I only use it if I'm about to go afk for a bit and want to be out of yellow health or something.

No one uses Wild Carrot as a Healing Trigger?
the risk about using cure spells for trigger (on yourself or a specific person) is that if the cure pulls them over the trigger % HB wont go off

sprout smack is another good one to use to trigger, it lands more than it should probably. and head butt costs to much mp for a trigger in my opinion

I have ridiculously complex macros, but when it comes to just trigger macros its simple:
Foot Kick (5 MP .5 second cast, can't go wrong)
Sprout Smack (6 MP .5 Second cast, slight slow)
Head Butt (12 MP? Shit hits the fan, BLM spells, you name it)
Wild Oats (I use this to pull, the gear swap in the macro will usually let you cast while moving)
Cocoon (Duh.
)
Pollen (For those times when there's no Mob and you need to cure someone.)
I have these spells in the same spot for each of my /BLU macro sets.
ATM, my macros look like:
1: /equip head "Drachen Armet"
2: /equip body "Wyvern Mail"
3: /equip legs "Drachen Brias"
4: /ma "Spell Name" <t>
5: /wait 2 (or 1 for the quick casting ones)
6: /equip head "Wyrm/Saurian Helm"
I have chaonix built into my gear macros /BLU, for the exception of WS, and I have a macro set for each gear set. Homam feet will be added when I get them, but also outside of WS.

People are finally waking up to the entire other half of their job? o_o;
Its not just soloing, /Mage can be used for a variety of things; although solo, duo, and trio is exciting as hell.

Apparently so. That they're waking up to the other half of the job I mean.
I used DRG/Mage for anything I could actually. It turned out really helpful more then once in Limbus and other group events too. Was just wondering what people usually solo'd these days. That's the biggest advantage I see to using /Mage.

Kinda sad most people don't use it to it's full potential. I want to see more ppl do Nyzul Drg/mage. Empathy+Body Boost is just pure win.
