Figured this section needed one just as well too. In any case my first question: Simply from gear, no staves or weather/day bonuses, what does QD damage cap out at?

Denali Kecks (Nimue's Tights if you wanna get technical)
Ugg Pendant
Moldavite Earring
Novio Earring
Crapaud Earring (subsitute one for one of the other two)

You forgot AF(+1) hat. With Nimue's tights in your example and Novio/Moldy, QD damage would cap at 290 without buffs, traits, staves, or DWB, I believe.

I just noticed my Jack Sparrow sig disappeared. Hm.

Anyways, the 518 was Windsday, Wind Weather (single; didn't have SCH in party), Auster's Staff, Corsair's Gun +1, Steel Bullet, AF+1 hat, Ugg pendant, Novio, Moldy, Furin Obi, and Denali Kecks, in terms of damage. I believe it was a V Wizard's roll with job bonus. I forget if I was /RDM or /BLM, since I stopped going /BLM to Tiamat a long time ago. No other MAB buffs.

Assuming AF Hat and Death Penalty QD Enhancements are the same damage upgrade, Death Penalty should be added to the list for perfect QD gear. Since you would easily outdo Corsair's Gun +1

Not quite sure if you can assume that, but yes, it's likely DP is the best gun for QD, even if it doesn't have the highest max QD damage.
