Right now I'm currently in the process of leveling up my WHM sub and I was wondering where to go next for a higher level farming job that can also serve as an end-game job eventually. I was trying to figure out between a PLD and RDM which one would have more success in terms of farming speed. PLD has the advantage in terms of sword skill, but RDM has access to black magic spells. What do you guys thing?

Depends on what you plan on farming.

If you plan on farming sky pop items (Despot comes to mind), obviously RDM (or even DRK,SCH,BLM) would be best.

Other than farming stuff that is kited (like despot, or other higher level NMs), any job is equal for farming. THF would be best for treasure hunter~

A friend of mine 'farms' on rdm by chaining mobs in davoi, ss'ing/phalanxing/enspelling and then turning, engaging,and afking or so he says.

For mundane risk-free item farming, like we used to farm blood...

...PLD GS can be a lot better. You can stack some moderate melee gear... if you feel like it.. and just GS your way through it. Seems like black magic would kill faster ok, but if you spam it, you'll be dry and whacking at it with your sword waiting on refresh to fill ya back up, or convert timers.

For higher level stuff, even not sky triggers, but say maybe hakutaku mobs, for their black magic scrolls and eye pieces I'd take rdm. Silence. Barspells are gonna be more win than the shield you'll be using on higher up mobs.

RDM if by farming, you mean doing something that actually makes gil, like selling sky pops.

PLD if by farming, you mean mindlessly farming too weak mobs for chump change.

Not that a RDM couldn't do this better, but I actually made some gillage the other day popping Alky on PLD/RDM.
