Well, I'm currently 0/7 on this friggin fight. Seriously debating on not even trying anymore.

Waste of $10 so far for me.

Well I only have MNK and THF at 75, so I'm relatively limited on my options for party setup.
My zerg attempts met with failures due to either insufficient damage, taking too much damage, or (the most frequent) Chainstun hitting full resist and Seed of Judgment wiping everyone with it at ~5%. I have done some marathon methods of slowly draining it down with me on add patrol (<3 Trollbane for MNK) but even still it seems that the PLD ends up dying due to SoJ. At that point the game cues the Benny Hill music and we all get drawn in one at a time and picked off.

I've also seen that generally everyone who remarked the fight as easy have multiple jobs @ 75 and most of the time high end equipment. For those of us trying to do this for a moderate sidegrade for end-game equipment we don't have access to it's just another slap in the face. "Here's another piece of gear you can't get" is basically what I paid $10 for.

Nice, I'll have to see if I can get some people together and try that.
I can see from visible gears that the Monk had W.Turban, Kirin's Osode, Melee Gloves, Melee Hose, Fuma Sune-Ate, and Destroyers. Out of all that I don't have the Osode and the Sune-Ate (have Fuma Kyahan, but on loan to someone.) Any idea on accessory slot items that aren't visible or a different body piece to wear in place of Kirin's Osode like Melee Cyclas or some other HP+ gear?

Not off-hand, but this isn't a particularly evasive mob. At issue is simply keeping your shadows up as much as possible and keeping HP high to eat the AoE damage. Other than that, slow and steady while others deal with the Thralls.

Comments on the Youtube page for this video say he was MNK/WAR, so no shadows. Just straight tanking it. I'd assume that most of it would be standard wares for MNK, just not sure.

Finally got this fight done using a modified version of the fight below.
RDM/DRK, WHM, BLM, BRD, RNG, MNK

rocky start (draw in got me stuck inside the crystal) and I missed 3 charms, but we pulled through without a death

Got my Shura Togi -2 now (beats a Scorpion Harness +1 for non tanking)

Congratulations. And Mirke Wardecors is in no way that far below Shura Togi. It's almost certainly on par with it (~1% higher hit rate, a nominal difference in normal punch damage).

I don't look forward to redoing this when I've finished Ranger.

ya looking at it strait from offensive action its 10 attack vs 5 str/dex..... Id take the latter always. Add in the defensiveness to it and its miles ahead of shura imo. HQ is a different matter but again its so close that id go w/ w/e is easier to get.

in my mind atm for bodys on mnk it goes hachi>Usu full set> shura+1 > mirke > shura = enkidu. Anything else is to low and you should be concentrating on one of the mentioned, but osode is decent and so is SH until then.

attack is great, but its been show for years now that str does in fact help mnks dot a good amount until its capped. This is never a real option though for us because where ever it has been is where good acc spots are. Alkys at capped acc = okote, its that -dex though and fact we dont really cap acc that makes them not so great. Same goes with osode, its not so much the str vs attack as it is the loss of 5 acc. What I am saying is people hear this str does nothing for mnk and have no idea, its just people spam it on forums because they miss out on other items that could also go in slotts. Every slot we can get acc in we usually go for, having str earrings, rings, neck piece, you get where i am going now.. is pointless because there is such high acc items to go in each. But when an item is same acc amount then you comparing attack vs str is when it can be tricky.

I'd put enkidu above shura (and the +1) out of the added defensiveness as well as being on par DD wise, but keep the 10acc/atk mirke ahead of all 3 of them.
