Greetings i am trying to figure out the most optimal way to lvl WAR to 30. I want to sub NIN so i can DW Axes but not sure if i should use GAxe until i get to that point. Basically should i just run GAxe or can i be just as effective using Axe + shield atm? I am new to FFXI so still learning alot. I have ran through this forum many times to find an answer but all topics seem to point to later levels in different situations. Thanks
Axe or GAxe until NIN sub

Great axe is going to be the most optimal choice at all levels, in all situations. You're allowed to sub Ninja and not dual-wield.

Thanks for the feedback. I know i do not have to DW but its something i would really like to do and have to at least try it... worst case i can always fall back on GAxe right?

two handed weapons are a pain in the ass to skill-up. stick with gaxe, axes are easier to lvl. Sure you'll get Rampage before RR, but it'll be worth it. Stick with Gaxe.

No harm in playing around with it. Dual-wielding can be pretty fun for some people, and there's really nothing wrong with it, but its undeniably inferior to the other options these days. Though, as said about, if can be a pain to skill-up, so I'd just stick with the one.

because I leveld rng before war i had the axe wsnm already before war hit 50.
with that said i only use axe 55-59, even though G axe was a bit gimp i leveld it for raging rush and stuck to g axe any other level

I don't think I agree with the "GA is optimal at all levels in all situations" mentality.
Dual wield with an offhand weapon that brings up DoT and Rampage are still heavy hitters. I know this from meritting camps where RR and KJ are hitting for pretty much the same damage, except for the fact that I can match their WS speed by 150%.
Do both, and depending on gear you can decide which you think is the better option.
One more thing: Don't touch axes until 60 though, you won't get DW2 until 50 I think, and that's where it can actually shine if you had the right axes to equip i.e., at LV.60+.

How do you match their WS speed by 150% ?
Ignore this Visual guy and hope he goes away. I don't want to see his reply to this.

Am I misunderstanding, or was your response to us wanting some sort of support for your claim that we need more social experience?
I'm just checking.
On-topic, because I know you have no means of supporting your idiotic assertion,
Warrior/Ninja dual-wielding Maneater and Juggernaut(semi-optimal, with a hint of practicality) with no modifications other than a Rajas Ring
Delay: 490.4348 (8.2 seconds)
TP/Hit: 6.7 (15 hits to 100 TP)
Real-time to 100 TP: 65.6 seconds
Warrior/Ninja single-wielding Perdu Volge(again, optimal in a practical sense) with no modification other than a Rajas Ring
Delay: 504 (8.4 seconds)
TP/Hit: 14.7 (7 hits to 100 TP)
Real-time to 100 TP: 58.8 seconds
Just for fun, a WAR/SAM with a six-hit build(which is incredibly easy to do)
Delay: 504 (8.4 seconds)
TP/Hit: 17.3 (6 hits to 100 TP)
Real-time to 100 TP: 50.4 seconds
And this doesn't even incorporate the 10% hit-rate advantage great axe has over axes, which will subsequently have an effect on your TP accumulation, nor the fact that, while I did it to keep things balanced, a dual-wielding warrior has little reason to use a Rajas Ring, further increasing their requirements for hitting 100 TP.
For future reference, there is no prerequisite stating that you must be a societal reject living in a basement to understand this game's mechanics. Good day, sir.

No... but I think it's painfully clear to everyone that Kaparu is all kinds of reject (social, etc..) in addition to just being flat out socially inept just from reading pretty much anything he's ever posted anywhere.
Don't worry Kap, some day your online ambitions will compensate for your micropenis. They will they will they will!
