Unless you're bumping your fSTR, 2 accuracy is going to beat 3 STR, as attack and accuracy are on an ~3:1 ratio in terms of effectiveness if you're in the 80-90% hit-rate area.
Axe or GAxe until NIN sub

Equip a screwdriver and camp FoV.
But on a serious note, abandoning great axe could be bad for your career. It's our highest ranking skill, and several of the "break" weapon skills pre-RR provide enemy debuffs that cannot be granted by dual axes. Sure, if your goal is damage output alone, you could use dual axes indefinitely(and swords if you have specific ones+merits) but gaxe will be waiting there, ready to consume your time in skillups, and it is merciless.

Stupid question...Since most of the time 50-60 you're camping colibri. Could someone just use GAXE cap the skill, and put on a polearm to penta spam? I'm just wondering cause my polearm is capped from my SAM, and since it seems Sturmwind seems to get bleh around that level range.
Note: WAR has B- in Pole and gets Penta at level 51.

GA or polearm are best depending on what you're fighting from 1-75.
Rampage definitely beats sturmwind for ws damage, though no one has capped accuracy in those levels and shield break will do more than whatever rampage could contribute most of the time. Plus penta should be blowing away your rampages.
Depending on your gear you can rock dual viking axes for awhile since you're basically the same accuracy as a GA, but you'll prolly parse lower since GA would hit at least as often but harder. Given effort you can usually parse 1st/2nd with any combo so it doesn't make that much difference in the end leveling.
The argument between using chiv chain with sniper's +1 is silly because you shouldn't be having accuracy issues with a pcc and tor/snip+1, so it would only matter for SC and not sure how often you would use that with /sam anyways (which would make pcc + t/s better than both). I use chiv chain in campaign or capped acc situations, but I also wouldn't be using an accuracy ring then either.

Back on topic. DW is a viable option even at late levels with the correct build includling a Ridill. For sake of trying to help the new guy out who shouldn't necessarily be subject to the rants of one guy about being told he's wrong and now every FFXI player who tells him such is an Elitist moron with no social skills. There is a few levels in which I believe DW to still be superior.
55-60- Warrior gets rampage but not raging rush, leaving something to be desired from fail WS choices from GA.
20-23- Raging Axe before Sturmwind.
The numbers clearly show that late game almost all GA builds will beat DW builds. But on a side note I recommend skilling up almost all weapons. Never know when your gonna be in Limbus and not be able to use Slashing or what not...just a recommendation. BUt its also something to kill the time when you get sick of WG spam. Have a good time as a new warrior vinitine, don't let all the assholes on the boards discourage you. Not everyone in FFXI is either an asshole or a moron

Stop giving bad advice.

Also, hasn't it been proven that G.Axe still outperforms DWing even with a Ridill?
I know there was a parse about it somewhere, but can't find it.

It has the potential to outperform each other based on a Ton+2 of variables including merits,gear,sub-job,food, lack of bard<s>. A Good, and I used that term sparingly, War/Sam with appropriate gear will be very hard to beat.

Every variable you said is self-inflicted, other than, debatably, the support. Why would you merit, equip, sub, or eat things that are going to force you into an inferior weapon?

I have 8/8 sword from blu, and I tank alot during limbus and such, even with plds therefor I like the reliability of my /nin than gaxe. I also have a lot of fun trying different combos blau/rid(or joy) or rid/joy or perdu/rid. Its alot of fun and when I stil parse higher than the majority of ppl I don't mind playing around ex; using evisc in a lolbri pt, doesn't really matter if I parsed 5% lower than myself when I gaxe/sam.
You asked why, well there are a few of my reasons.
But yea I have in my opinion a pretty optimal /nin set with ridill and merits etc, and ya /sam with gaxe always wins but that dosnt stop me from having fun.

Fun is a myth not to be tolerated on FFXI-related forums.

He can do whatever the hell he wants on a forum. He can have his kind of fun in someone else's merit party.
