Could anyone tell me whether or not a taru ninja would suck? I've heard that they aren't as bad as it seems, because they get alot of agility. If anybody could tell me if they're good or not and why I would be very thankful.

It doesn't really matter which race is a Ninja really. Most of the good ninja skills use powders and those rely more on your gil supply then stats.

Nin/Rdm can stack oh so many debuffs on to a target that its scary.
But only if youre a taru.

Ninja Taru supremem here. So far so good. Sub'd on to RDM is sweet because of en-spells/dual weild ability.

forget nin/rdm please your "oh so many red mage debuffs" will be half of your level. imagine a 15 rdm casting a spell on a lv 35 monster. think its gonna do anything? it will be resisted, or wear off in 5 seconds or something. forget rdm/nin for that matter, at least in groups.
this guy copied this almost directly from the official strategy guide (which is total bullshit on almost everything about race/job combo)
as for ninja, the only stat that matters is GIL. dont even think about it unless youre rich or know how to get rich.

Just
thought I'd let b00sdr1v0rz know that he spelled "here" incorrectly in his sig. Oh, and
by the way, quit flaming people who are just trying to answer questions. the purpose of
threads like this is to help people by answering their questions (no matter how stupid said
question is). If you wanna argue and flame like a child, then you are in the wrong thread.
And I can't wait to sub Ninja with my Red Mage. I don't care how expensive it is.

nin/rdm
isn't as good of a combo.. i can agree with that..
but rdm/nin is amazing... maybe
its the elvann part of you talking =)
back to the original poster though... taru
ninja is sweet.. they gett a nice amount of agi .. put on the +evade items and you got
yourself a good combo.. i still hedge from letting them tank... (if they do get popped its a
bit more noticable) but its worth seeing them dual wield toothpicks ^*^

Someone asked a question, if taru's make good ninjas.
In my opinion, taru's are as
good as any other race at being a ninja. Ninjas are a pretty gimped class to begin with
unfortunately. Their main use is either a few debuffs (not as good as a rdm) or tank (not
the best idea for a taru anything) they are otherwise just another link in the skillchain so
you better have a strong sub if you want to keep up damage-wise with other players.
I
wouldn't suggest going main job ninja if you are looking for the best char you can be, but
it's not terribly gimped, so if it's what you want to do then have fun... But i'd suggest
subbing war, thf, or sam instead of rdm, for being able to do significantly more damage is
more important than a little bit of mp and half level spells.

Keep in
mind the spells are not half-level since the damage and effects are based primarily on stats
(there are exceptions to this), the skills primarily effect resistance to the spell.
NIN/RDM can be nasty (particullarly all the more so as your delay goes lower and
lower in terms on en-element spells) the debuffs RDM gives can be nice but often you will
not be able to use them, however the self-enhance (many of which can be used well as a
subjob) are very nice. If you are pulling (though not until level 42 or 44) you do have
Blink so it isn't costing you 50 gil each mob to pull with Blink up.
RDM/NIN is
very, very bad though. Red Mage has low combat skills and can't hit reliably starting at
level 30 and getting worse and worse as you go up. You really don't get anything from the
Ninjutsu that you wouldn't already have a better version of as a RDM (except the element
enfeeble, but you could sub BLM and get Shock so it isn't that big a loss).
