the info you should have ascertained is: If you have Love torque, use it. If you don't, gorgets are good.

treelo had a great post about evisceration vs DE. Basically, if you have the right gear to cap your crit rate + X's knife, evisceration will easily do more damage over the course of a meripo than DE will. If you don't have the X's knife, then they'll be close, but DE should pull ahead slightly. If you don't have the proper gear for evisceration, then you're probably better off sticking w/ DE.

Not true, mostly we're a helpful bunch, as you can see from this thread if you remove all the pointless bickering between you two. A select few decide to be helpful with a negative slant on their advice, generally if you don't ask a question that is already common knowledge, or hasn't been explained recently, you'll get the answer you're looking for.

For all extensive purposes the points of an ellipse are round!

Gorget is +.1 fTP.
Evisceration's base fTP is always 1.
That is a 10% improvement.

Adding 4 dex to weapon + fSTR + 122dex isn't going to be as big an improvement.

If your acc isn't capped then gorget wins by a lot on the off hits.
Even if your acc is capped the +2atk on offhits won't make up the difference of the first hit.

I'd agree that they're an eyesore, but it's only a problem when its unclear they made a mistake.
I know the difference between their and they're.

Are you sure of that? I'm not a Thief, so bear in mind that I'm seriously asking this question. The "10% improvement" is only to the first strike, which is obviously also the one that gets all the DEX/AGI of SA/TA dumped into it. 4 STR and 4 DEX doesn't seem totally unfeasible as a substitute for a measly .1x Damage on a weaponskill whose first strike is going to critical, but perhaps I'm misunderstanding the multiplication of the damage equation.

The point about Accuracy is a good one, though.

WD = ( D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP + DEX

D=34 for X's
fSTR would depend on mob, 4str may or may not increase this by 1, caps at 11 for X's
WSC=36 with gorget and 37 with beads (or is this scaled lower as well?)
fTP=1.1 with gorget and 1.0 with beads
DEX=122 with gorget and 126 with beads (but thats only here if stacking SA)

(34 + 0 + 36)* 1.1 + 122 = 199
(34 + 1 + 37)* 1.0 + 126 = 198

So its closer than I was expecting, if I even did that all right.
I was thinking the DEX was getting multiplied by the 1.1 as well, which would have boosted the gorget by another 12.
