I just put the differences up there, I wanted to discuss possible applications for endgame situations/solo uses as viable subs and get opinions regarding those possibilities and just a general discussion.
Granted my bst is near 64 and not 75, just putting this out there as it is a viable sub, I just wanted to discuss it and see if it would work better as a full time sub or just a situational in regards to all endgame aspects of bst.

lack of mp, blink, and stoneskin. which i use often on /whm are a big turnoff to me on sch. generally i make my time not taking hits, instead of curebombing myself
but these days i go almost exclusively as /nin. in part because i rarely melee, and in turn rarely take hits. 3 shadows can last me a while

I too am more or less exclusively /NIN37 these days. But I also melee all the time together with my pet though.
I find that it helps speed up the fights and bring up the chains massively if I actually contribute with my pet.
Usually get to around Chain #7 or #8 on T and VT before I take a small break.

Sleep on subjob with a none mage job main is next to useless, cant really add that as a positive point. But nice lateral thinking although I still think /WHM out weights due to the blink + SS.

lol I buckled under peer pressure and actually levelled SCH as a sub for my WHM a few months ago and it's the weirdest subs to get used to if you haven't been playing around with it for very long.
I don't really like it as a sub for a job that doesn't come with blink/stoneskin natuarlly.
That's about as much as I can say about it really.

Scholar has job abilities that bring your applicable skills to B(?) rating for corresponding spells.
B ranked enfeebling can stick sleep on VT mobs

sleep also adds a considerable amount of Cumulative enmity, as opposed to stoneskin and blink which can be casted out of range!

Thanks for the posting and the opinions, just wanted to see if someone had done it and if it was worth it. Thanks for the discussion it was actually informative and non-flaming...shocking on KI, but not on the BST forums, where I can have a legit thread get some feedback.

blink and stoneskin as /whm probably outweigh sleep as /sch by a lot, granted you dont necesarily use them in the same situations..
but sublimation is definitely useful for a job that has no natural MP pool and enough HP to go by without worrying about subli dropping you too far down..
sublimation + gaudy harness should be more than enough to make sure a BST can keep the MP coming where needed. I'd likely be in Light Arts fulltime since I'd probably want the addendum spells, plus it makes spells cheaper.
the other important things you're giving up are viruna and erase. Erase being the more important one..
however, while we're on the topic of mage subjobs, has anyone ventured the thought of /RDM?
we do end up losing -na spells and stuff, but basic cure spells are all still there, and the MAB trait gives like a 20% boost to Primal Rend damage.

I've never actually thought about subbing rdm on bst specifically to boost primal rend dmg but it is an interesting thought.
If you want to see how far you can push the ws, it might be a good idea to try but but for day to day stuff, I still would't want to part with my whm sub.

I prefer /SCH. I can do just fine without Stoneskin/Blink and Regen 2 is a godsend. The less MP thing really doesn't matter because SCH's natural MP conserving abilities make up for it tenfold. Being able to reliably Sleep things is invaluable, I've found it so so so much more useful to me than SS/Blink. When the Reraise level drop comes along I doubt I'll use /WHM ever again, unless I specifically need Erase.

I use Bst/rdm for many situations and really like it. When you know you will be fighting something that has defense buffs, spikes, etc., dispel can make a huge difference. I also prefer bio 2 over dia 2 because pet will be taking less damage.
With /rdm you still have pro/shell 2, stoneskin, and blink, and can also add phalanx. Also, know you're enemies weakness and use the proper En- spell for more damage.
You miss out on erase and -na spells, but if I know those will be important I'll go /whm. No reraise is not an issue for me because I always carry RR items anyway. No raise can be a benefit too, no /tells asking for raise half way across the zone lol.
I've just started working on my scholar and looking over the spells to 37 I admit it looks really good. Drain and Regen 2 are both very mp efficient, then add in aspir and scholars conserving abilities and we should be golden.
