I don't think that's a glitch. If the wyvern uses healing breath then loses it's target, it cures itself I believe. A glitch would be something like this...

I have this happen every time I do Royal Jellies. >.>

I remember reading about this glitch before; i believe that a spell that corresponds to the jelly's element will cure it rather than do damage.

So your wyvern's Flame Breath would cure the fire-based jelly, but glitches and says that it cured your wyvern rather than saying it cured the Princess Jelly.

I've known about this for some time now, it was discovered on accident, but I worked out the exact mechanics of it. And Square-Enix knows about it too, I told them in-person.
How it works:
Spell is cast
Wyvern readies healing breath on target party member.
party member targetted is made an invalid target (by leaving the zone, dropping from pt, or the dragoon drops from pt).
Wyvern's healing breath defaults to itself, and its HP is restored.

The thing about it is that it's too impractical for common application. Even if you have excellent timing, you can't do it during battle because it involves removing someone from party (or yourself) during a 2~3 second window when the wyvern is preparing (but hasn't used) the breath. About the only use I found of it was in Silver Sea Remnants during the Archaic Gears room; those things just spam too many AoEs, and is usually where I'd end up going through a wyvern (if we were going for Archaic Plural anyways).

I did not know about this until tonight... Sorry for the old bump, but drg/sam vs. puks and the wyvern healing itself confused me a bit. >.o
