I am confused on what out-weights what.

I know 2 STR = 1 ratk

When it comes to gear for WS's and what done what out does what.

What is better 5 STR or 10 ratk.

For example should I use a 2 STR earring or a +5 ratk earring?

5 STR = ~2 RATK, so RATK+10 is better.

Uhh... Only +5 RATK earrings I can think of are Ladybug Earrings, which are only active during the day. Depending on the WS you're using, STR or RACC would probably be more beneficial, just because of the simple fact the earrings would be useless at night. =x

Though, if you wanna pay attention to when its day time, RATK Earrings > STR earrings due to the "low" amount of STR on Triumph Earrings.

From what I've been told, if the RATK is more than the STR, use the RATK.

Oddly speaking, Str isn't a modifier for weaponskills, yet is more beneficial than Agi. I assume this is because Str raises attack value of ranged attacks, in which case if you can get more ranged attack for equipment slot, obviously ranged attack is better, if I'm thinking this through right.

The question was likely in reference to the new augmented ruby earrings that can reach +5 ranged attack. Ranged accuracy earrings can also be obtained through Ivory key rewards.

By first glance, it appears 2 STR = 1 RATK, but in reality, STR is more than just that.

fSTR, which is placed into all melee/ranged attack calculations, weither it be weapon skills (even without the modifier being effected by STR, I.E Detonator), or just standard swinging/shooting, is still an apparent statistic.

Not entirely worthwhile as a melee, unless you're a Monk, but for ranged attacks, it has a noteable effect as far as I'm aware, partly due to the shooting radius mathematics applied.. I may be wrong though, as to exactly why STR has a much more worthwhile effect for shooting, than meleeing. Most likely because there's Haste for melee, while for shooters... there isn't.

Nonetheless, at the 80DMG~ range, 3 STR pretty much equates to 1 DMG, added onto your damage calculation. 1 DMG? Probably worth a good 5~ R.ATK, easily, assuming you were at mid-ground attack rating.

The difference, is that (ranged) attack rating can be capped... keep in mind though, that this is far from possible, anywhere, anytime (barring, say, Forest Hares, where you're basically capped on every statistic). On the other hand, STR.. has no limit.

For the STR to become extremely potent though, you have to break the defense "barrier" with your attack rating. This, is most likely plausible for COR, via Berserk, Minuet IV, and Chaos Roll. Now, even say, without the Berserk, there's still room for STR!

With that said, I can't quite say for sure what the correct ratio is for STR#:ATK#, but, the thing you need to know: Attack can be capped, while STR cannot be... and even if it can be, there's not enough STR available in the game for it to happen. >_>

A quick comparison though? I'd probably roll with my Bushinomimi over an R.ATK earring, pretty much any day of the week. That, and I'd probably use Pahluwan Seraweels over Skadi's Chausses, but.. then your -hit build with Joyeuse is bumped up by one, which in my opinion, isn't worth giving up for the 3 STR, unfortunately!
