Nothing exceptionally groundbreaking here. The COR thing is a really big "Huh, wonder how I forgot about that." but otherwise most ranged setups are exactly the same as the one you used (minus the RDM/NIN tank..) Not sure what "crazy setups" you're talking about.

Congrats on the win though. I still hold that most everything works if everyone pays attention.

By crazy setups I just mean with Cor I don't think you need one of these ranged damage only setups, or rng + smn or whatever. I think you could go with traditional melees and just have the cor magus's roll them.

You could probably get away with whm, rdm/drk, blu/drk (for adds and bonus on magus's roll and extra stunner), cor, and then any two dd's. As long as the whm, rdm, and blu stood 17' away they shouldn't get hit, and the cor could dd with the other 2 dd's and keep magus's roll up. I think that would work fine. You would want to use 2hr's as you engaged though in that case before you lost them since you would be dd'ing at the target.

Just wanted to add..

Easy victory, with 15m remaining

PLD/RDM, WHM/SCH, RDM/DRK, SMN/WHM, RNG/NIN, BRD/WHM

PLD did the usual Run away, cast spells and hold agro plan.. As WHM/SCH With refresh+Ballad i never had nay issues with MP whatsoever, never dipped under 500 MP. RDM/DRK handled both Stunning the crystal and Tier III nuking the Seed Crystal. RNG did his job by DDing the crystal slowly but surely, SMN Pred Claws was doing naywhere from 800-1200 per use, and surprisingly enough Ultimate Terror actually worked and drained 3 of the crystals stats at a time. the BRD just used Ballad and Etude/Prelude on the RNG.

Also, near-victory, ran out of time at 4%

PUP/NIN, WHM/BLM, RDM/WHM, BLM/RDM, PLD/WAR, RNG/NIN

Ended up not being able to do enough damage because the PLD got charmed twice, leaving the RNG forced to tank for nearly 10 minutes total. PUP used Activate>-Deactivate method to nuke the Crystal for steady 300~ damage per nuke but with the advantage of no hate and no MP limit. However was tough to keep going after 50%, the increased ranged on Seed of Judgement hit the puppet a few times, but thankfully didn't kill it. RDM/WHM Healed and refreshed, WHM healed, BLM handled Stuns and Seed thralls, RNG did damage.

Would just like to add that in all reality, any job capable of subbing DRK and having MP is capable of Stunning -aga spells from the crystal; The -agas are very far apart and RDM/DRK is not 100% necessary. Our BLM was perfectly capable of alternating between Stunning -agas and killing the thralls.

also, I highly suggest WHM/SCH for healing this fight. If you have a RDM with you that means no Sublimation, but Light arts and Penury Cure V after a Judgement is just incredible.

My point is, that's not really a new setup beyond using RDM as a tank... Which is crazier than the ranged setups people have won consisitently and reliably with since we first started the fight. "Crazy setups" still seems like a weird way to refer to the standard strategies used when your own only changes maybe one or two jobs.

The point of there being so many different strategies is because "Oh, just get a COR and you can use anything else" leads to people hounding after CORs, which were hard to find prior to the addition of this and would be even worse if you added a whole new subject of agitation to the rotation. RNGs and SMNs are a dime a dozen, and PLD's aren't the hardest thing in the world to dig up. BLMs and RDMs for stun aren't that hard either, and most of them have thier appropriate subs. Ranged strategies were designed off of effectiveness and global availability.

Anyway, cheers for people getting this done however they can.

1/1 today ^^ Setup was Me (COR/RNG) PLD/WAR BLM/SCH SMN/WHMx2 WHM/SCH was a really simple fight o.o just make sure everyone knows the gameplan before going in, I was on Add duty, would use Barrage on the boss between adds to help build TP, then slug shot 1 add while quick draw killing anymore if there were any.
