Ok so i got me a pair of hermes sandals. lookin at lots of solo/duo stuff for my cor. i noticed that blinking out QD's animation seems to be very important to most nm strats. However, no matter what i do, this animation will not go away!
i've tried the basic /equip, QD, /equip... didn't work
tried throwing in /waits.... didn't work
/tried using <stnpc>... didn't work

if someone could please explain to me how this is done, i would VERY much appreciate it and probably bake you cookies. thank you

/equip [slot] "[item]"
/ja "Wind Shot" <t> (or whatever shot you're using)

It's probably best not to put a wait and another equip swap, just in case you're doing a lot at once and have to mash other macros.

Make sure the equip you're swapping is a visible piece and you don't already have it equipped. Have multiple equip swap macros so you can switch equip on the go without having to worry about the equip macro not working. It's best to use any "/equip + JA" macros when there aren't many other animations that are processing, or the JA won't be blinked out.

ok thanks man i'll try that. so i guess it works alot better when soloing cuz of less animations. gotta admit i've been trying to do it in exp party's. i hope it works.

Yeah, the main thing that'll mess up the blink is if there's another animation processing on your character (and sometimes on other characters onscreen). Low FPS/computer lag might also cause the animation to process, so yeah, in general, it works much better when soloing.

What I do is I have a macro to equip Terra's Staff, then my Ice Shot or w/e macro is Staff Change -> <Element> Shot>.

Are you using BlinkMeNot on windower?

Ok so i tried the macro that you suggested first. and it worked for me almost flawlessly. the only time i found it didn't work is when a mob is swinging at me which is to be expected. Here's the thing. My friend tried the same thing and it's not working for him at all. we're not using any special programs because we both play on ps2. This does complicate things because we planned on duo'ing alot of stuff with our cor's. any ideas as to why it works for me but not him?

Hrm, swinging animations never seemed to cause problems for me, but I play on PC so it might be different. But good to hear that it's mostly working for you. In most cases you should be out of melee range, anyways, so swinging animations shouldn't occur that often.

As for your friend, the only thing I can say is that something's got to be different between you two, and it could be almost anything, so my advice is just to look for what's going on that he might have missed. Double check his macros, too.

/equip slot "armor"
/ja "dicks" <me>
/wait 1
/equip slot "armor2"

This has always worked for me on any platform.

our macros are exactly the same... word for word, and QD still only gets blinked out 20% of the time IF that. its got to the point where i just sold my hermes. i dont see a reason to keep them if this doesnt work for me >.<

/equip main "Aquilo's Staff"
/ja "Ice shot" <t>

barely works

I've tried every other macro and < > command in game and it still hardly ever works. like stated above we are both on ps2. same zone. i dont have any lag issues etc etc...it just does not work for me.

is it normal for you do have that many animation flaws? because i cant see a cor soloing anything with that many mistakes

stupid question, but is it not working because you already have the staff equipped?

I don't know if it's an issue, but try to use Main instead of main, and Ice Shot instead of Ice shot.

I use c legs to kite in

In your macro you can't have any /wait

Here's a quick example;

/equip main "Vulcan's staff" <me>
/equip body "Mirke wardecors" <me>
/equip legs "Denali kecks" <me>
/ja "Fire Shot" <t>

That will blink the animation. Your blink can be interrupted if you get hit or someone casts spells on you and the animation will play out putting you in danger etc. The same blink method can be used with phantom roll and double up.

Easy really. If you swap your hermes for like af for qd make another macro for swapping back immidietly after the shot. In this way you can blink the entire fight. /barricade

And if you're on ps2 I can understand if it just will not work cause ps2 blows. sad.gif

naw this isnt the problem. the macro is fine as far as spelling goes.. i still blink. the thing is i seem to blink too fast and the animation still goes off most of the time. it works sometimes.. but its way too risky to solo something considering how many times it misfires
