Light Grip affect Charm?

Sorry if this is a topic that is beaten to death already. I did search and didn't find releveant post in the first page.

I just returned to FF11 after a year break and noticed new grips on the AH.

The Light Grip affects Light Element spells, so I am wondering does it affect Charm? Or is Charm considered an light element ability thus only the Light/Apollo Staff enhances it?

Charm isn't considered magic, so no it wouldn't affect it. Charm is only enhanced by CHR and Light staff for ACC, and Charm+ for length.

so would it be safe to assume that korin obi does not effect charm either?

obi give the weather and day bonus to kick in 100% of the time during said events, which to my understanding is both mab and macc

Unless someone did or read about some detailed test, how can you tell that Obi and Light Grip do not affect Charm? They are not supposed to do so, I agree on that, but the same could be said about Light Staff.
The enhancing effect on Charm that you can find on the Light Staff is a hidden effect after all, so the same/similar hidden effect could be on Obi or on Light Grip.

I personally am very reluctant to think so, but you can't be sure until someone does some accurate tests (which probably have already been made, I just couldn't find any around)

we have never had extensive testing on the effect of MACC (it is a relatively new stat after all, introduced in some minor gear items in CoP, with a few pickups in ToAU, extending to Einherjar) .

we're going to need to do it though, at least 100 charms without light staff or Macc
and then 100 charms with macc
and 100 charms with macc and no light staff
and 100 charms with macc and light staff.

post sum results mage/bst
