Ok, so like.. I've been working on a dex/crit WS build for DRG to compliment my use of Cletine to see if it's comparable with Thal.. I know eyeballing it isn't the best way but with my current set up it seems to be doing all right. Mind you.. my set up doesn't have much yet, either, it's still a work in progress, but here's what I got so far..


Cletine / Claymore grip

Wyrm Armet (until I get my maat's cap, which should be soon-ish..)

Askar korazin (working on finishing ACP for the nuevo with crit+3%/att+10)

Kubira bead necklace (until I can get my light gorget/love torque)

Drachen gauntlets +1

Brutal/Assault earring (getting pixie soon)

Thunder ring/Rajas ring

Amemet +1 (wondering if I should go with commanders or stick to this, can't really afford cuchulains..; ; ) / Warwolf belt

Wyrm brais (until ares.. just waiting on 35 piece from gears) / Aurum sabatons (wondering if drachen +1 is better for the extra 2 dex over 5att/5acc?)

I've had a few merit pts, gotten up to 2.1k so far.. on things like dynamis I've gotten up to 1.2k on mobs, gears/ramparts in salvage up to 1.4k etc. I know it's not quite up to par as some of you, but I'd say it's doing all right so far.. It's not much, but like I said it's a work in progress. So over the next few months or so it should get better and I should see some better results. Right now I'm at +32 DEX +6% crit.. by the time I'm done I should have 48~53 DEX (depending what suggestions are made/what I can get a hold of) crit +9% and whatever extra % crit the hidden effect from pixie gives.. assuming it really does give that, or so I've read.

So with all the talk about pixie earrings and other gear choices, I would like some solid opinions from someone if they think having a dex/crit build with cletine is really worth it. It's been working fine for me so far but before I start investing in more gear (which I'm being told is worthless now.. ) I'd like to hear what the rest of you all think. One of my friends in my LS who has a little better gear than me (like ares body, ace's helm, etc.) tested his cletine vs his thal in dynamis and said he saw much better numbers and I was doing damn close to him, so I'm just curious now..

for drakesbane if you can reach over +35~50 dex over mobs' agi, your crit rate starts going crazy high from my understanding, so it's more practical on birds than anything since we know their agi[67] so need 117 dex to cap crit rating on birds.

@72+40 right now and just wrapped up hitting 66 on my last maat job last night. Gotta do some skilling up this weekend then gonna start doing my fights by monday hopefully, and I'll have another +7 added to that. So it should bring me from 112 to 119, which will be good it seems.

So while your Cletine has a Rose strap on the Thal can use a Claymore grip for +3% critical hit rate? How is that any different than before? I'm lost.

Because Cletine has a much lower delay, so even though you get a 6 hit and +3% crit from either, Cletine's delay is going to give you faster DoT. Not to mention save you 300k+. lol

12 delay isn't that much lower, 12 delay and 3 VIT for 3 DMG, 2 DEX and evasion down. Hmm~

3 DMG going to be
3/91 = 3.30% increase to DoT (actually less, higher base dmg goes, lower you benefit from it, and you'll have a bit more than 91 thx to fstr) and will be even less during WS since you will add WSC in there as well (also gorget). I'm gonna assume 90 str for ws, adds 37 DMG

Now w/ cle you have 128 DMG
3/128 = 2.34% increase Again, will be lower once u add fstr.

As for -12 delay, not rly sure how to calculate that in terms of % increase. So them between the results of those 2, then it comes to the dex/vit vs the 3% crit

And if we're talking birds, the eva- shouldn't matter as you should be capped to begin w/
