Adder Jambiya/+1

given the recent influx with star sapphires from ANNM, been trying to find viable situations to where adder would be a preference (if ever) to impose itself on an x's/blau build, granted adder's proc rate on evasion down and a given situation (plus trying to find an excuse to get one for use on both thf and dnc)

if it's 10-15% proc rate on the evasion down according to wiki, or procs just as often as a mezraq or thalassocrat, would the eva down ever warrant adder use? whether its in a solo/group setting from just the acc buff to all? basically would having your thf gimp itself slightly to a support build for a party scenario would have the party do better in the long run (not merit, moreso for different endgame scenarios)?

basically i don't know how to distinguish the math between adder (-20 eva on mob if same as mez/thal) and the blau buff (atk+16/acc+5) and if in any scenario would adder would be a handy tool to use ever

thanks for incurring input, just curious how any would warrant its use or disregard it all together~

Adder Jambiya is potentially a situationally amazing weapon, in theory.

In lowman situations or maybe even against birds in merit you could justify the proc in terms of gained total DPS versus lost DPS from not using other optimal weapons, it still is an impressively high DPS weapon even if it lacks stats additional stats.

If the price dropped to around a mil I'd consider picking one up.

In merit parties and like situations, I don't think so. Firstly many people would be gearing, eating, and singing without taking the Jambiya into account, and in most parties worth a salt that I've been in, people's accuracy stands at close to cap since everyone knows how valuable accuracy is. Therefore in such situations, a proc wouldn't do much. Another and probably even better reasons why it wouldn't be terrific for parties is because of how fast mobs die. I'd say that the worse the party is, the more the weapon might help. But I don't see it being terribly terribly useful when merit mobs die so fast. Even situations where you want to zerg something down, there's always 2 minute feint to handle those lurkers, infiltrators, wivres, and skoffin. And feint pretty much does the job.

Other than that it's DPS isn't too bad, combos of X's, Blau, Azoth, and Sirocco would still be better. It's a step up from Magnet; one more base damage and defensive stats. Also I imagine the a.effect is more potent. Magnet's wait is probably the same as gravity, -5%evade, right? This is probably -10% or -12.5% like Mezraq. I'd be surprised if the proc rate is so high as shown on wiki, and there's nothing in the discussion section--but maybe, who knows.

Either way I've got a star sapphire on me and I've just been waiting for a khimaira horn to pop on the AH. For max evasion azoth would be nicer, but I'm going to give Adder+Ermine's a go and see how I like it. I know when I'm tanking something difficult my accuracy is horrid. This should be nice for acc and bolts along w/ feint.

Solo would be amazing, but that goes without saying. It'd be added to my situational gear arsenal and filed under "Ugh, this isn't part of my max up set but it's really useful for what I'm doing".

Sounds like another situational piece that could potentially suit quite a few scenarios. I'm not sure if meripos would be one but I guess if you're doing Mamool it could make a noticeable difference in the party overall.

I think where this thing would really shine, as Nef said is in soloing. If you're a Thief that loves to solo things, I would see this as a good investment. I know I'd get one especially now with the extra mog sachel space.
