I had a friend who was leveling brd (he levels jobs just because other people will be more apt to invite him)

I was wonderin how it happened

I am against the claims that "we ought to keep this a secret that we can just take advantage of" this seems close to that "issue" that happened a while ago (hi2usalvage).

If people have the resources and manpower (cause it takes a lot of people with knowledge of how to do it) then I say go for it. if you screw up then you screw up.

Stop acting like this is a gold mine that people can just trip upon and hit it rich. The secret is out...its on KI to be exact.

How in the hell is this even remotely reminiscent of the Salvage glitch? People kept that a secret because they knew that if enough people did it, Square would inevitably find out about it, and fix it. This isn't instanced. Its being kept under wraps because there is one Korroloka Tunnel per server, and unless you can be bothered to simply ask someone who has offered to share the information with you, you really have no business knowing how to properly execute the party.

astral burns are more or less for merits, and to get maats cap. So yeah.. I would agree you wont learn the job, but most people are doing it for other reasons from what i have read.

seeing as i done one in Ordelle's Caves(much longer pull but alot more exp), you could do it in alot of zones, the only thing about Korroloka Tunnel, is it rigth next to bastok so it easy to wildcard but you could probly do this in any low level zone, with the rigth level sync

OK...gonna go the middle ground here and HELP people with setting this up. But I'm not going to tell you how to do it. But I'll tell you everything that will help you figure out how to do it. I repeat, EVERYTHING YOU NEED is in this post. But it's up to you to figure out how to correctly use this info.


Gonna teach some important game mechanics that apply to summoner burning. Use these to figure out the correct method.


#1) Linking hate and aggro hate is garbage. It doesn't work like normal hate. Because no direct action is being performed on the mob, it doesn't change it's target when actions are performed on its target. But it's attention is turned when a direct action happens on it. This is why in a battle like airship a tank can aggro the mammets and you can cure him like crazy and nothing happens to you. But cast a single spell on a mammet and they charge you. Direct actions > indirect actions.

#1a) Casting magic on yourself has no effect of raising hate against linked/aggro mobs. They must have directly have hate on you.

#2) Resting does count as an action against a mob. It trumps aggro hate. Example, this is why you can't rest when pulling dragons in Dynamis-Beauc, or zoning babies on Achamoth.

#3) Assault, Release, and "Too far away" count as direct actions against the targeted mob. So does calling a BP against a mob, but this is very small hate.

#4) If still on a mob's hate list, using items, casting magic, etc. do generate hate and count as a direct action against a mob whose hate list you are on.



There you go. The most important things you need to know to Summoner burn. If you use this knowledge, think things over...rest on it some, you will begin to figure out how to correctly summoner burn, or more important, how to correct pull and hold a Summoner burn.

By the way, did you know Barspells are a great way of capping hate? Also a good way to pull hate of another person if they need to cast something.
