I'm gonna have to do Ouryu Cometh with my LS. Did it a couple of times in the past but this is gonna be my first time on BST.
Anybody mind sharing with me their experiences? Some suggestions?
Things like what to do (other than keeping one worm charmed, but Ouryu spawns more than one Ziryu at the same time, and I can't charm more than one), subjob to equip, etc etc.
Any comment will be greatly apreciated, because I've seen many Mage/BST at Ouryu, but never a BST main!

Well, there's nothing i can say about going BST main to this, but the way i used to do it was to have 2 mages go /BST (Me RDM and the 2nd WHM). When the tank(s) take position only 2 of the 4 worms, probably only one, should be able to aggro any of the alliance members, so the 2 /BST was more than enough.
And for going main BST if you really need to go this way i'd recommend /WHM, since you'll have to help out with Erases and keeping Stoneskin up to mitigate Ouryu AoE damage.

Went as BST/WHM, worried because I had no real idea of what I was supposed to be doing. We did 5 orbs and this is a sum of what I've been doing
1) Supporting the BLM group (mainly my party but also other random BLMs) with CureIIIs, Erase, Poisona, Barstonra, Regens and Curagas
2) Charming either the Worm close to the BLM PT or the one close to the Tanks.
For the majority of the fights there was only one worm to be taken care of, sometimes it became 2 and once it became 3 (2 on BLM group, 1 on Tanks). This is what I've done for all the different situations:
1 worm BLMs, 1 worm Tanks
Solution 1: a BRD was keeping the BLM group worm slept with Lullaby. I was keeping the Tanks group one charmed. Once the other one started growing resistance to sleep I was charming it and leaving it. This appearently was resetting its resistance status.
Solution 2: I was constantly roaming between the Tank group worm and the BLMs group worm. Constantly swapping charm between the two of them. This turned out to be pretty effective, but in the end I was unable to support anybody with healing spells.
2 Worms BLMs, 1 worm Tanks
A BRD Slept the Tanks one, while I charmed one worm and had it fight with the other worm until one died. After that was done we went back to the usual 1+1 worms situation described above.
It took a while before a new worm respawned after I killed the other one, but it eventually did.
Nothing noticeable. Had only 2 mischarms which I easily handled with Tame.
The only thing that went wrong was at the end of the last orb... I had 12, yes let me repeat: T W E L V E, mischarms in a row, even tame failed.
Now I really hate when this happen. I can understand 2, 3, even 4... but 12?! I wish Charm was more reliable and less random...
And believe me I don't think it's a matter of gear. I may not have the best gear around (I surely don't) but I don't have the worst either. I think my gear is above average, and stilll... 12 mischarms in a row.
Bah...

That's really some bad luck, but glad to know it all went well. As i said i always went as RDM/BST and of all the times i did Ouryu i can count with one hand how many times i mischarmed (2 comes to mind).

Depending on the setup and now my bst getting toward 75, I would be going brd/bst if I am on worm control, as I could lullaby one worm and charm the other, since being on brd would still be in good chr gear for charming. Once I get bst to 75 (currently 70) I can try that and report back.
I know going bst main is a waste of an alliance spot, so subbing is the best option if you want to charm in Ouryu country.

I agree with this, but it also depends on which other jobs you have. You have BRD, it's a no brainer choice
I was asked to come BST main by event leaders, even if I suggested me goin' /BST. I have to say though that my other main jobs do not offer anything interesting.
I have PUP. Sure BLM doll can pack in some nice damage, but it's hard to keep it alive, and sometimes the AI just get stucked up on casting Stone IV.
I have MNK, and Chi Blast doesn't work on Ouryu.
I have SAM, and that's not a pretty effective job with our setup.
So really, BST/WHM wasn't the best option, but maybe the "least worse". I supported my PT with Bar spells, curagas, Poisonas, cure IIIs and some random stuff. Totally un-necessary but still, better than my other jobs would have provided. We still managed to kill Ouryu each time in under 20 minutes, which is good I guess.
Of course that's not thanks to me lol
