I'm gonna side with Rambus, mostly because the Etude+ instrument is a harp as I refuse to chase after every blm in the party with a wimpy flute especially for ballad.

Even if I had a gjallerhorn, I'd still use a harp on those nuclear tumbleweeds.

It would make sense for the etudes to be AoE again.

Who cares? How often do you find yourself needing to AoE an etude?

Maybe str etude the sams as your last 6th SV song? They wear so fast that a troubadoured minuet, madrigal, or march will out perform the 2 WS you could get off with a decent etude bonus. You could get max +15+instrument str iirc from it pre-SV, which loses 1 str every 10 seconds, chances are it might lose several ticks before you can engage. So I guess if you had perma feint and angon with a bunch of sams (since they have the highest str ws mod and would get the chance to ws the most) it might be viable (although it would complicate song order).

Without soul voice meh to etudes, you'll only have 2 songs (as opposed to zerging with 6), so etudes wouldn't even be worth using.

And as far as etuding a blm party...who manaburns on brd? Seriously, is this common? Are you helping friends? Sure they would be helpful for manaburns, but I've never gotten near enough xp/hr (in the few times I've gone on other jobs) to even think about changing to brd.

I was talking about a zerg sitation where we had 4 brds and i was left with singing 8 str songs or something, was a F*** pain. I I think what i did was attack 2 and str 2 song, i asked what to sing and no one told me i didn't like that situation at all. ( and the fact i did not want to sing that meny etudes)

I would think it is easier to have all songs AOE and have this new JA make it single target but I did shudest what you said earlier, i think someone said it was stupid having to sing that song for overnuking nuke bots or something?

but ether way I think a bit more flexibility how to give songs to be nice weather be your way or mine, send them to SE .

Wow, lots of bitching here. I'm going to say yes to this one, but I'll hold off on saying anything about it to SE since something like this should be pretty low on their priority list. (Tons of other crap they really need to do.)

I don't quite understand the debate here. "If you want AoE STR then get a Scholar." Umm...really? Who ever gets a Scholar solely for that purpose? If you do, that's really sad and selfish. Bard and Scholar are two completely different jobs. Letting them have just one spell that does about the same thing isn't going to hurt game balance. Scholar is better at it, anyway.
