Well, with a recent discussion I had with another PLD in my LS, I thought I'd post this thread and find everyone else's opinions.

Rank 1:

I'd prolly go for the gil and upgrade the slots I have to upgrade, Ares's Cuirass, Haubergeon +1, Sniper +1s etc.

Rank 2:

Gil. I can always camp the v.belt for that extra 2% haste.

Rank 3:

Hauteclaire. Noshitrite?

Rank 4:

Behemoth hide for a chance at dusk +1.

Rank 5:

Does it matter really? I guess Fafnir Statue.



If I had all of the gear that some of the PLDs on this board have, I'd prolly just use the rank 1 gil for funding an Aegis. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

With my luck, though, I'll prolly end up not even winning Rank 5 like last year.

Rank 1: DRing unless the gil is close (80% or more) to what it would take to fund an Aegis or Excal, then I would take the money and have to decide which one to upgrade.

Rank 2: Duelist's Chapeau (Only seen one drop ever, gonna be a LONG time before I get mine)

Rank 3: Hauteclaire I guess, for completions sake, although I think it's highly over-rated and a Joytoy is gonna perform better for 95% of the things that I tank. (Hmm, maybe Homam Legs then, I still don't have them and Omega is a giant whore)

Rank 4: BHide, free shot for a friend to try to craft me some Dusk Gloves +1.

Rank 5: Fafnir Statue, it looks cool.


This is assuming my main, if my mules win anything it'll be Gil, or whatever is worth the most Gil out of the sellable items.

Rank1: Dring no question. I can get gil anytime, and make a relic without bonanza, but a dring is a bit harder to come by.
rank2: gaiters so I can sell and buy other useful stuff like a vbelt.
rank3+: dunno, I'll decide on the spot.

though for rank 1 I'd still go for dring.

Excal is 10x better than Burtang, for the vast majority of things in this game.

Hell, if I won Rank1 and didn't take a Dring, I'd be really tempted to do Excal over Aegis.
