I have spent hours on this site looking for something to tell me exactly how to gear my 75 bard. I usually sub nin, and would love to find a list of equipment that I need to get in order to do my job even better. I am looking to find out what instruments work best for what songs, what equip works best for what situation. Can anyone help me? I dont want some complex story or a neverending thread. Just a list of what works for what.. when to equip chr stuff, when to equip wind skill stuff, why my lullaby doesnt stick... things like that.. Can anyone help me out? I would love it if someone could...

If you spent hours looking, you'd have found tons of threads on this exact thing. I won't give you full gear lists on how to play bard, but I'll give a quick overview of basics.

/nin is only good in places your pulling(IE merits). The instruments that say +1-2 of the song are the best for each song (except for lullaby where since wind is naturally better at landing mary's horn is better and the harp with +2 is better for range(AoE sleep)).

Equipment: Before you cast equip w/e fast cast gear your have (Mantel, Gomek and other things that have fast cast). Then equip a mix of chr (your aiming for 120ish) wind and singing skill and magic acc for debuffs. For buffs just put on as much skill as you can and you'll be fine. The skill/chr gear must be equip before the end of the cast to get effect.

As for why your lullaby doesn't stick, I'd need your gear to tell you why. Make sure your using light/apollo staff and the debuff stuff I said above.

My lullabys stick like a charm, and I think my 75 brd turned out quite well~ it just hit 75 last night actually!
