Whenever people talk about camping Charby it's the same thing, find a Ninja or thief to tank, a Brd to buff and a Rdm to cure. I know a few jobs can solo it, and Merona was even planning to solo it on Pld. As far as I know they got banned before they could try though.
Reading Merona's blog got me thinking about duoing it, as I still needed this sword.
I don't have anything like the gear they have so I knew soloing it was out of the question, but I started thinking along the lines of how they would solo, and then adapting it for a duo.
It was always going to be a long fight, so doing damage quickly wasn't as important as staying alive. My girlfriends rdm has phalanx2 max meritted so that helped, allowing me to change to blu sub. I wore entirely turtle gear, going for vit and shield skill mainly and eating a taco.
This was what I wore, though I don't think gear is very important for this fight as long as you have something in each slot, and none of this is hard to obtain.

The earrings are Cassie and Suppa, I forgot my +cure earring.
The only gear changes I used were a haste set for reprisal getting the recast down to two minutes, and relic feet for sentinel.
The rdm kept phalanx2, refresh, ballad (she was /brd) and haste on me and enfeebled the mob with slow2, para2, bio2 and blind. I used sentinel on pull as I was in DD gear breaking my great sword of trials.
For the rest of the fight I alternated sentinel>reprisal>reprisal>sentinel. Used rampart once and got beat up for it, I'd forgotten it overwrites Cocoon.
The damage ranged from 0~10 on shield blocks and 60~80 without blocking. TP moves were laughable in general, the worst being a 300 tentacle.

The fight lasted 25 minutes, atonement doing all the damage. I'm fairly sure almost all the TP I got was from shield blocks which adds up quickly. I didn't end up using chivalry, or invincible and was always above 300 MP and half health. The rdm converted twice but was never pushed for MP or timers.

If I was doing this without phalanx2 I would probably sub rdm and add another mage. Phalanx2 stops about a cure2s worth of damage every round, so take that into consideration. It was an easy fight, but intense because of keeping track of buffs. Hopefully this will help other paladins get their swords.
Amazingly we managed to time the fight when we didn't have any tablets, we got the messages during the fight but didn't have the HP/MP refresh one, so if you can fight this before those stop it would be a walk in the park, mp wise.
There's a slightly longer writeup on my livejournal, so feel free to check it out or ask questions.
