Hello everyone,

I recently heard FFXIV was going to be another MMO, and it got me to thinking of FFXI. I quit... oh I dunno, 2-3 years ago from the Pandemonium server. My main was a hume warrior (WAR75/NIN37) named Alaxander, and my alt was a Tarutaru named Shishepopu (BLM something/WHM half that).

I was just wondering what sort of changes have been made since I've left. I ditched out a few months after the second expansion came out, just about 2 weeks after finally getting 75. I've been playing WoW happily since, but I think about FFXI from time to time. I was wondering...

Do people still do Sky? Dynamis? Have they increased the level cap? What did that do to Merit Points? Are the gil sellers still running rampant? What are the new classes like? Does anyone know who Alaxander and Shishepopu were? Has anything super awesome happened in the last three years? Are HNM still camped way too hard with bots? Did the personal NPC system ever work out? Are Dragoons still shunned? Are PUP still horrible? Is that one chest piece from Sky with +10 to everthing still really good? How many legendary weapons are on our server? Do legendary weapons even matter anymore? Any other changes? Anything cool or noteworthy?

I've just been wondering what FFXI is like these days. I had a lot of fun playing for the 2-3 years I played, but eventually the game became more work than... well, my job! Hope you're all having fun with it still. Thanks for humoring an old Pande member.

OH!!!!! I assume yes, but 1: Has anyone downed AV the not cheating way? AND 2: is there any new super-epic-impossible-to-kill boss?

If nobody answers, here's from Odin.

Soloing is actually more viable than it was 3 years ago.

People still do sky, dyna, kings...well, basically everything that has been around is still done.

Level cap is still 75, nothing new in merits except for more merits allowed.

Gilsellers/botters are everpresent.

SCH is a good, flexible main and sub. DNC is mostly fluff and predominantly used for lowman stuff and campaign.

Adventuring fellows are basically the same as they were when you left.

Goons have a tremendously easier time getting meripos due to new bird camps.

PUPs are still around to basically prove they exist.

Kirin's Osode is the WS body of choice for anyone who can wear it, barring exceptional gears to select jobs.

It will probably be a few more years until someone gets the insane amount of tasks accomplished for mythic weapons.


Oh, and screw AV. Pandemonium Warden is where it's at now.

Actually yeah that pretty much answered a lot of the stuff I was wondering. Guess it's nice that some stuff got easier. Seems like not toooooo much has changed. I hope everyone on pande is doing well... I'll probably see you guys in FF14 haha

Pandemonium Warden is INSANE and I read that people still haven't downed AV the right way. Square Enix is cruel XD. Ulduar isn't bad... I kidna wish WoW had a 2 or so hour fight even. Oh wellz. Raids are still neat.

Did I read this right? I found a link to the main FF11 site saying that they're offering full character recovery for people who quit, even if you deleted your characters. What if you gave away all your gil and tradeable items before quitting? Are those items gone? I dunno... maybe if I could get my character back I'd play again... heh.
