But yeah, the fact some jobs are not as party centric hurts... You know... I was just thinking.... for SMN, a lot of people complain about the perp cost... Mayhap if the Avatar summon cost was boosted and went up as the summoner leveled in place of the perp, and then all perp gear was changed to reduce the summoning cost, that could improve the summoner ability. The main thing I always point out SMN needs, however, is a boost in pet ACC/ATK/MACC/MATK vs VT and IT monsters.

Prep cost is what basicly killed SMN IMO. If there wasn't a prep cost calling out an avatar to melee and random BPs wouldn't be too bad and it'd be a decent DD at low levels.

With the current system though lower level BPs need a serious overhaul. Like I said before, if I am calling a powerful godlike creature to fight along side me that zaps my MP and costs MP for it to attack, I'd except to see some effective damage.

Ah, so the ulterior motive comes out. Start harping about how good the other jobs are at nuking and maybe SE will heap more damage spells over to black mage.

I do not know if you are being ignorant about SCH or trying to be funny.

why?

if blm is fine why do you have to solo?

if blm is fine why is it not needed?

Because people are so rushed and greedy. The same reasons all of the zones previously used for leveling 50+ can be erased from game data because they are abandoned and everyone is all 'zomg aht urghan onry for my uber exp gain' now. BLM is an awesome and useful job but people fail to use it because they have to exp on only collibri and imps or their head will explode. Sheeple.

How's that any different from now? unsure.gif

Its not that different.. just a little.

paladin and Shield tanking has caught up enough in the sense that its a reliably effective way of taking damage, especially in situations where shadows cannot be used..

but in most situations, shadows are still used.. but more so on PLD/NIN, which isn't quite as 'bad' as NIN mains being tanks. I guess thats the current compromise in the game... PLD/NINs aren't as fully dependant on shadows as NIN tanks are...
also, Ninjas being at the front of the battleline doesn't make that much sense from both a roleplay and functional point of view, imho.

Scholar - Looks like SE got the weather wrong when they made this job cause it seems like a rip off caster version of rdm. Only thing good about this job is the cute AF other then that I won't mess with this job play the real deals like rdm , blm or whm if u wanna go that route. Kinda wished they made another tanking class since Wotg is in a war setting after all ROFL!!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

You're joking, right?

WHM needed a whole update just to be a better healer than SCH and SCH is still far to close to BLM in terms on nuking.
Only thing SCH lacks is Haste, I can think of way more jobs that lack more than one spell.

How you miss DNC off such a list is down right stupid.

S/He hasn't played the game yet, you can tell by his post. This is why there should be some sort of character name validation on KI.

I am pretty sure Square just really messed up Ninja. If you look at their abilities and skills, they were designed as a puller and debuffer, not a tank. Their first Ninjutsu is Tonko, which turns them invisible. By level 10, the job traits they have are Stealth (lowers detection), Resist Bind (big one for a puller), and Dual Wield. By level 10, their 2 hour, only Ninjutsu, and 2 of 3 job traits are all geared to a puller. Just the fact the only real use of the 2 hour is to protect the party from a bad pull is a good indication that was their original role. Utusemi: Ichi is way too difficult to get for an spell that the class currently revolves around, as well. I don't really think they anticipated people were just going to chain cast different levels of Utsusemi. I'm not knocking Ninja, and Square definitely did decide to just leave Ninjas as tanks rather than nerf them back to their original role.

I believe they've made a fix to the job that they poorly designed. Now ninjas can waltz around with enmity in the upper 60s (or higher?)and be fully functional. Something we couldn't do before.

For that I DO thank them... now to fix the player base...

They also have an A in throwing and access to the highest damage throwing weapons. I don't think I've even once seen a NIN with as shuriken equipped.

3. Gimped Ranger- Nothing much I can say with this one other then by the fact they're useless as heck when it comes to parties and endgame rofl. If anyone plays this job that far that is hmmm...... >.>. THF already rules when it comes to pulling mobs , and we already got blms as a dmg back line that does 10X more dmg then this poor job =(.

Of course, Rangers are totally useless in xp party. Ever heard of a RNG using KC?

And of course they are totally useless in Endgame. Ever heard of Odin, Dark Ixion, King Behemoth, Khimaira, Jailers...? guess not.

You ever seen the price tag that comes along with higher lvl shuriken? Far too expensive to be tossing around last I looked.

The basis behind ninja is paying your enemies not to hit you, while ranger is paying them to die. It's that simple.

I only read the first post, the oping.
All I can say is this person has neve enjoyed the vast possibilities of stregies that the jobs offer espeially Ninja and Ranger.
I would really miss somthing in end game (like Sky Gods) without them.
