Once upon a time, the prince and princess of two rival nations on opposing sides of a great river fell in forbidden love. Neither the enmity between their countries nor the vast body of water that separated them could extinguish their feelings for one other. But their story would end prematurely, and in tragedy.

Thus was born the tradition of Celestial Nights—a time when the people of Vana'diel come together in the shared hope of rejoining the royal couple in their celestial realm.

Under the auspices of the Mog House Management Union (MHMU), the event has matured to become a perennial favorite among the citizens. But much to the moogles' dismay, the standing ovations scheduled for last year's event did not come to pass as anticipated. What was intended to be rivulets of tears streaming down the faces of toughened critics turned into a deluge of derision-laden disdain. Consequently, moogle reputation for competence in the field of entertainment production plummeted to a historic low.

The fault lies neither with the script nor stage direction, but the flawed casting process...or so the organizers claim. Determined to make up for last year's humiliating outcome, the MHMU has sanctioned the running of another open-air theater event in the same vein as the last.

How will this bold second attempt be received by critics and the public?
Will it avenge the failures of the past and restore critical acclaim to mooglekind?
Or will it prove to be a commercial flop, as most sequels are wont to do?
As has become tradition, the MHMU is yet again relying on the kindness of adventurers to see it through this latest of darkest hours!

Unless SE pulls an emergency maintenance to add new items for this event nothing new will drop.

Last years prizes:
Nation bamboo furnishing... yawn
NQ yukata, same design as sunbreeze, 1 roman candle every 7 days enchantment
HQ yukata, same design, 1 laughing lantern every 7 days.... hmmm... not worth the time.

Needs moar yukata for legs/head/hand/feet.

What prose, what words written upon this page,
simple, inelegant and short; to the point without
a meaningful post or thought we again engage
in more trivial things about the Event we doubt.

Another haiku! What nonsense and criticism you say!
Why not a sonnet, poetic and fancy, to be read aloud
with more than three lines and written each day?
Think of One’s arrangement & skill, one can be proud.

However, the Celestial Nights is sneakily nearing us--
Loud as a cricket, flat as a hammer, boring as ever,
yet here we are tossing haikus here and thither. Thus
we are writing such simple words thinking we’re so clever!

Maybe SE has something new in store, but not like they do.
We can only wait, expecting the worst to come true.

No. But some of those goldfish scooping npc's are creepy though.

Fish scooping is awesome, but wrong event, Ice. That's the summer breeze festival. This is the crap you gotta follow the princess around and emote with her or something for a tree. I don't remember. But it's boring, lame and not worth doing unless they add something good to it this year.

the best events happened early in the game. every thing else is trying to play catchup to the fun of the very first twinkling treent and summer fest events. though i will admit that the blitz buffalo event in both its incarnations was pretty fun.

I think that is true about everything in the game but not necessarily because it was actually better. All of the events were new to us and exciting everytime they came out. The first time I did the easter egg event I was so excited and the first time I saw fireworks over Windy was amazing but after 5, 6, 7 years of the same events with little modification they just lack that 'WOW' factor for anyone sad.gif

I still do all of the events though haha.
