Not content to rest on their laurels as the foremost—and only—purveyors of custom dungeons in Vana'diel, the Moblin Maze Mongers have been working overtime on their latest Maze Voucher that will usher in a whole new subterranean adventure in the upcoming version update!

My Gobbie and I

With the new Maze Voucher, players will be able to participate in a new challenge in which they and a Goblin companion must maneuver their way through a maze teeming with fiendish foes. In order for your operation to be deemed a success, your comrade must survive the journey intact.

The Power of Gob

Have no fear, for this Goblin is no defenseless dunce! By defeating enemies that lurk in the maze, your companion will gain strength and grow into a formidable ally. Defend him from harm, but take care not to be overprotective—slay too many foes yourself, and you will find your Gobbie's growth as an adventurer stunted.

Gob of All Trades

Your Goblin companion will begin the quest with the "All-Rounder" job—well-balanced in a variety of skills, but master of none. By reaching Level 5 and fulfilling certain conditions, he will be eligible to switch to a more specialized position.

The career choices available to your Gobbie include the close-combat specialist "Walloper," the ranged attack marksman "Barrager," and the magic-wielding "Spellslinger." Each specialized job also comes with unique abilities, which your Goblin will unleash when the requisite conditions are met.

If you and your Goblin apprentice succeed in your mission, you can expect a whole slew of lavish rewards, including MMM's inaugural augmented items, special maze runes to customize your Gobbie's abilities, and much, much more!

Ugh, why do they bother updating MMM if there are a ton of other things much more important to do?

There's no"Part 1" on it, so I'm glad it's out of the way.

Already had missions and new zones, campaign and now MMM. All thats left is job adjustments and other stuff.
We're still a month away from the update, looks good to me.

becauls they want to have the full system in place and there is enough continued support of the system by the player base.

im kind ofl ooking forward to this. it opensm ore opportunities for MMM to be played solo. That's my main reaosn for not getting into it.. i don't want to develop a static so i can earn marbles to buy the tabulas i need for certain stuff, this gives me the option of playing solo, leveling up my little buddy, and earning rewards to use towards group play

I like it.
I like that they are finally providing us with many ways to level/play solo. I have high hopes for XIV. I left XI for WoW for a while, but WoW can't touch the number of things you can do in FFXI. In wow, you get to level 80 and raid raid raid raid raid raid raid. I've been enjoying the changes they've made to ffxi over the last couple of years: Fields of Valor, campaign, the new jobs, now MMM, level sync, and besieged now that I can actually hit stuff.

kudos where due

Dear Square-Enix: No one cares about Moblin Mazes, please focus on things relevant.

This looks like it has potential if implemented right. But knowing the developers' past attempts at stuff similar to this, I'm thinking it's gonna be glitched badly. dry.gif

People don't do MMM because the community is too against trying new things and experimenting with them. I'm not saying MMM is OMG FUCKING AMAZING, but I'm not sure what exactly you guys want the developers to do about it.

For the record, I'm not particularly fond of what MMM has become either, because I was expecting one thing (customizable mazes) and got something else (randomly generated monsters in set mazes). But for what it is, it's good at what it does. It has some decent rewards (I would be very doubtful that not at least one person on every single server has duplicated Koggelmander and Ermine's Tail mazes, at the very least, and xp mazes have exploded in popularity among some players), and it doesn't take long (30 min). If I'm not mistaken, with enough C.C.s you can get a lot of money (Khroma ores etc) from the synthing mazes too.

And people are STILL complaining about Moblin Marbles? There's a goblin in the shop that duplicates moblin mazes, just browze through them and try to find one you like- the moblin maze building is only for people who love to experiment, and THAT'S the minority of the population.

The only thing SE needs to fix is the inability to host a maze more than once a day. It's very discouraging to create a new kind of maze if you can only enter it one damn time a day.

As for the new addition- uh, wtf are you doing SE, we already have this thing called an adventuring fellow, and we can call them in MMM. Or will it be possible to actually make a 3-person party on your own doing this, with you, a goblin, and a fellow?

I'm ok with this update. Like what's been already said, it's out of the way... no announcing MMM changes in the last 2 days of update news. Actually, I kind of like the idea of the little gobbie fellow. It sounds amusing. I'm rather fond of the gobs in XI (when they're not eating my face), so this kind of sounds like fun. It'll be interesting for a day or two, at least.

Left before MMM got involved, curious though, too lazy to look and wade through info.

The exp you get, how often can you run MMM, how long does a typical run last? The exp looks nice for someone who hates exp parties. like meeee lol

You are given a time limit of 30 minutes per run of MMM, so it depends on how many members you're going with. For exping, people use the one where you have to kill all enemies, because the amount of xp from the box at the end is based on how much xp you gained in the maze. So the exp obviously varies greatly based on number of members you have, how many enemies in the maze (determined by runes on Tabula), what kind of enemies (determined by runes), and of course the level of the enemies (determined by runes).

So depending on how you're doing it, MMM either gives about 10k/hour or as low as 3k/hr. Keep in mind though, that the MMM xp is really consistent- getting 10k at level 40-60 has made things several times faster for many of my jobs. At level 75 obviously people don't MMM xp too often if they just want to get tons and tons of merits, but the other thing about MMM is that you can usually do some unorthodox things and not have it really be a huge detriment to the party, like RDM meleeing and such.

I'll post the rune setup I use for exping if anyone is interested in it.

You + Goblin + Fellow + Automan! Its a one man four man party.
This probably doesn't work. T-T
