Oh, how things have changed..

Okay, so I recently started playing again after about a three year hiatus.

I'm getting the hang of the game again, but my main question is, how exactly has warrior changed?

I'm a level 60war/nin, and back when I played, my equipment was pretty much considered the best you could get for that level (snipers/haub etc). Imagine my surprise when I saw the haub going for 200k when I paid 5mil for it. sleep.gif

What new equipment should I be using?

What subjobs? (other than thief, its 22, I'm working on it.)

and one major question is, when did gaxe become the weapon of choice over dual axes? My Gaxe is almost capped, so no worries. I'm just curious, as things have changed BIG TIME.

Edit: I mean, most people have been saying use Gaxe all the way to 75. However, I know that RR at 60 is beastly. smile.gif

Please, no rude responses, I've looked through some of the topics, I'm just trying to find the most up to date info.

Thanks. smile.gif

in August 2008 there was an update where they changed stats while using a 2hander weapon. 1str/dex=.75atk/acc etc.

/SAM /NIN /DNC are all good SJs to look into, first two being required for Lv75

This isnt a product of those pieces being bad. its a product of the economy changing.

Like was said above, due to the august 2008 change on the mechanics of 2handers, it really gave a much needed boost to them. combine that with updates to new sam JAs and you get hasso at lv25 sam (50 when /sam) for +strength, +10 acc and +10%haste, pushes further strength into 2handed weapons. Stack that with store TP and haste gear and you get the 6 hit builds that a lot of people so aim for as melee DDs.

You said you've been gone for 3 years.. a lot changes in 3 years. What was great then isn't great now. times change and you have a lot of catching up to do.
Patch notes are a good place to start, learn exactly what has changed and whats been added.

The main problem that you're going to face is that people aren't used to others only having one 75 anymore. Thanks to ToAU, most people have multiple 75s now. For instance, it's hard to get a Fortitude Torque, Aurum Sabatons, Hecatomb Head/Hands/Feet, or Byakko's Haidates quickly at all with just a melee job. Swift belt is also much easier to get with a variety of jobs.

As a random note, Ninja now has a Sneak spell! It's called Monomi: Ichi, and you can buy the scroll in Kazham.

Also on that note I'd take THF to 37 also. Since it's still a great SJ for Steel Cyclone.
