I've been thinking about this head piece. And I'm thinking about replacing my Koenig helm, and using this for idling since it can give the shield skill I want and also has some extra enmity on it for melee/WS. I swap my Aegishjalmr for voke/cures and turban for flash when tanking stuff as normal /war. Im Galka and currently still have more hp w/o both helms on than all of the other tanks in my ls's. What do you think?

I'm confused as to why you want to melee in Shield Skill and Enmity.

Ok, Phlow, but if he's looking for a /Warrior helmet, I could think of better options than Enmity for idling in. Accuracy +10/Attack +5 comes to mind, as does 3% Haste(/3% Snapshot) or even VIT +2/Haste +2%. Re-read what he said:

Your going to be bleeding out too much hate to make up for it with reduced melee delay, ACC, or ATK on HNM. The only possible way you could think to make up for it would be reduced damage via +shield. Enmity is a "uhhh.... wtf" unless he's figuring in the -2% MDMG taken.

I'm not condoning it, I'd much rather work things differently. But it'd make somewhat sense if you were turtling. VIT is useless btw.

Well laugh at me if you want to, but in the 4 years I've been a main tank in the content I currently do, I still blood tank, and no one has had a problem with it. I don't do HNM's, haven't since a few years ago. If the shield skill/vit and mdt-%/enmity aren't the greatest, then what would you have me do? Oh and btw, i do not have Atonement, I've been trying to do nyzul to grab it, but so far I haven't even seen a brave blade, so I haven't even worried about macroing in pieces for that.

I think you may have misread. For blood-tanking, I wasn't turning down the Shield Skill option, I was questioning the other possibility.

I don't think anyone is laughing, just disagreeing. A while ago, PLD/NIN tanks established themselves as the preferred option over PLD/WAR because /WAR bleeds out a lot of hate.

It would depend greatly on what you are tanking in terms of which option is best for you. If it's non-hnm, you would want attack pieces and shoot for a Vorpal Blade (400-500 damage) macro that would score a decent amount of hate. If you are tanking something 10 levels above you, a better investment would be the helm you mentioned. The benefits of PLD/NIN shine because you can still wear those DD gears while letting shadows protect you.
