Acc+3 Pet : Haste+5%
Acc+3 Pet : Critical hit rate+3%
attack+3 Pet: Adds "regen" effect
Attack+3 Pet:Damage taken-10%

big enhances !!

I ll take Pet: Haste+5% and Adds "regen" effect, I think

STR+4 , Weapon skill acc+15 and AGI+4 , Increases weapon skill damage (2%) can be cool too but its more a bonus on player and not on "pet" and maybe useless in solo

now, idk if "pet:Adds regen effect" can stack with Zeta regen ( I hope )

  • This thing goes beyond 75?

If it stacks with regen for pet food, I would be all over that like a polyester suit on a 70's disco dance.

If Regen does stack I'd get that and either Haste or - Dmg, still don't know. ._. Just hit level 50.

Correct me if I'm wrong but...

DAMAGE - 10% is invaluable for bsts!?

That's gonna increase your damage between pet swaps while soloing NMs, as well as increase pet survivability in AOE heavy situations. I supposed a lot depends on just how strong the regen effect is, but damn, SE's offering a D ring for pets and you're gonna take a muscle belt?!

pet damage and haste for me. The only other option I see is making it into an imitation Ace's Helm. Much as I am loathe to make this a BST only item, I cannot pass up the defense increase to my pet, which can not only cut pet food usage while soloing, but make pet swaps fewer when fighting drawn out NM battles.

I've got a feeling that the Regen effect functions as a passive effect in the same manner as the Job Trait Auto Regen does for WHM, and on gear like Sol Cap, and that pet food Regen functions like an active effect such as drinking a Milk item or the Regen spell. Having said that, that is a rather large assumption to make, and I've nothing to back it up as fact. It just makes the most sense in my mind.

You know if this "regen" is powerful or not? It is possible that it's more useful on the duration than a simple taken " damage taken -10"
Thus at the moment I shall take the "regen" and I shall change after it's not as well powerful as I thought of it

Yes the "damage taken-10%" can help in certain situations but it will be useful for me to the everyday ? maybe not
wait and see ...

Is 5% pet haste on it's own really going to make that much of a difference though? I thought haste was more beneficial the more you had?

That principle about Haste's accelerating returns applies to players who can actually change their stats by way of gear. For pets, beyond ensuring that you've got the highest level Call Beast possible, the best you can do are a few items like Beast Bazubands and Herder's Subligar. Improving their attack speed by 5%, even though monsters generally attack pretty fast already, is a huge gain with how few ways there are to improve pet performance.

Hmmm. In that case, I'm going to need help from one of you Rainman types, because I'm seriously lacking the mathematical chops to work this out for myself.

I managed to get myself a pair of the Herder's Subligar, so once the Mirke Waldecors was unveiled and I saw the augments, I was very interested in making myself a Pet+ build. I was initially torn between Pet Accuracy +15 / Pet Attack +15 and Pet Accuracy +15 / Pet Double Attack +2% / Pet Critical Hits +2%, because I wasn't sure how the bonuses stacked up against each other. It was explained to me as:

"Go with the Attack.
DA+2% is a 2% boost to DoT and TP gain speed if the mob has no DA (1.02/1 = 1.02) or a 1.8% boost if it does (1.12/1.10 = 1.0181818).
+15 Attack will be a bigger boost than that and the crit rate, especially against higher level mobs your pet can't damage easily."

So, given the new augments available on the hat, does the same explanation still hold true for the Mirke options? Does the potential of Pet Haste +5% and Pet Critical Hit Rate +3% make the Pet Double Attack +2% / Pet Critical Hit Rate +2% option on the Mirke viable at all?

Just so you know, I had been thinking to go with Pet Accuracy +15 / Pet Attack +15 and Pet Damage Taken -10% / Pet Regen effect, because I didn't think the haste and DA/Crits were going to do much. Now I don't know what I'm thinking...

Thanks in advance, if you can actually be bothered to read/reply wink.gif

theres only two paths to take, an all out damage or an all out defense, somehow i think defense will work better for pets, gives you more time for pets to recast/repop in solo,

with more than one pet in the party (such as a bst ls or something. i dunno who they might be though!) it could make things alot easier.

some things, some monsters need alot more damage due to healing, and by some i mean ixion.

if only they had put the counter on this instead of the salade, it would be turned into my nins tp piece.

Just managed to finish AMK this morning, was on WHM but it looks like a fight where you *might* be able to use BST if your group is lenient on DD. It was a tough choice deciding between upgrading my pet or my own gear, had 2 sets in mind:

A ) Pet: Acc/Att+3, Damage Taken -10%, Haste +5%
B ) STR +4, Accuracy +10, Attack +5, WS: Acc +15

I ended up picking:

. . . mostly because I wanted to see myself on the offensive more, and it could be used for some other jobs. Also got a Hi-Elixir, Gold Thread and Raise III from the other misc. chests.
