Yonin: I value the extra critical rate but the loss of accuracy is annoying while DD tanking, cause you know hitting stuff is good for my enmity. I'm hoping the evasion bonus is substantial but I'm not holding my breath or saying that I'll be tanking things PLD waltzes around.
Innin: Good, great, I'll take whatever the hell I can take to improve DPS. Through using this means you wont be tanking, and in how many situations do you really play ninja in party and not tank? I suppose it's useful for duo tanking, but it reduces your enmity? Also as a taru ninja I'd like to see the elemental ninjutsu actually be useful with Innin, but it might just be wishful thinking.
Mijin: Oh yes, only took them years to "fix" Mijin. I guess we should gripe its not a free warp anymore. Helpful for zergs or last ditch effort maybe?
Hopefully this isn't our only update, but some attention is better than no attention finally!
Also the last part of the update mentions that other magic and JA will be introduced in the near future, while I'm guessing we wont see any new JAs besides these two maybe we'll get a ninjutsu or two. Dokumori/Jubaku Ni prz after years of asking.
edit: Yeah I haven't posted in forever, mostly because Ninja hasn't really changed much in years. Change is good, finally change. lol
Yonin/Innin New JA for Ninjas!

Yonin is pretty nice for nin/drk tanking.
Innin doesn't seem very useful because it'll lower emnity when damage dealing which is a nins main source of emnity, and you have to be behind the mob for the bonuses to work, so this'll only work if you don't have hate.
Overall pretty useful update I guess.. The Mijin Gakure thing is nice too

The new Moogle hat +4 str/+15 ws acc and +5 atk/+10 acc combined with bonus from Innin might actually yield some really nice spike damage to take hate if by chance you lose it. New hat if you get that augment anyway I think really solidifies str boosts wherever else you can get it in your ninja ws set. It'd even be decent with Yonin since crit rate goes up, make up for that accuracy you lose, cause really if i'm losing -25 or higher accuracy to proc Yonin I fail to see any ninja using it besides nin/drk.
Good point on the nin/drk thing, it was kind of out of my mind because I'm stuck on whats going to improve our DPS/WS as compared to other jobs.
Definitely getting that WS hat through, great for nin/mnk/blu.

I think the English translation is probably wrong ( as usually).
Other translations state that it's a decrease in critical hits taken... and it sounds more logic since it's supposed to be a defensive posture.

I can see innin good for nin dd. Seeing as they don't have hate anyways when u have more powerful dds around, you can easily get to its back!

I think so too, the german client says that during Yonin, Enmity and Ninja tool expertise are improved as well as Enemy Critical hit rate is reduced and Evasion improved while in front, but Accuracy is reduced & while Innin reduces Enmity and Evasion, Accuracy, Critical hit rate and Ninjutsu damage are increased while attacking from behind.
Therefore, go go NIN/DRK and DD NIN from behind~

Real ninjas do it from behind right ?
historically, yea lol..
the English notes are wrong, all other versions say Critical hit taken rate for Yonin...
its 3 vs 1

I'd been planning to take up Ninja once I was done with Ranger and they announce this. I'd been finishing up White Mage when Afflatus was released. I've been leveling Ranger while SE has been releasing scenario gear with major Ranger boosts...
I wonder what job I should look at next.

The Mijin Gakure thing sounds nice from the viewpoint of a WHM. If you're going to die and that Cure isn't going to save you in time, Mijin Gakure. then i can Celerity a Raise III to you real quick, and you're back up at 50% health with no weakness. it's essentially a "OH FUCK WE'RE WIPING, let me just explode, get back up, and save the WHM"
As for Yonin, with the inclusion of Ninja tool Expertise, depending how strong it is, it could be they're trying to steer NINs back towards ele-wheel and ninjutsu debuff tanking. I wouldn't be suprised if with those "new spells" in the next teaser, NIN gets some new Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu tanking still work,s it just requires more work, and money, than the DD tanking does. Maybe the bonus enmity will be enough to bring it back.

The pure cost of "ele-wheel and ninjutsu debuff tanking", eats +90k/run on tools some times more. Ninja tool Expertise better kick in like mad if there pushing that way!
