From the developers of the critically inflamed Bullet Witch comes another action title mediocre enough to make you kick the top of your dog's skull off and shit in its cranium.

that game looks lame. looks like a basic hack'n'slash with generic moves which after 1-2 runs through youll get bored of because its as flat and lifeless as a coffin for a the sperms that didnt make it.

needs more information released at this point. Looks rather dull.

God that game was bad, I played about five minutes before returning it.

Reminds me of the time I played Onechanbara.

Onechanbara looked worthless from the previews... It looked so bad it could make Billy Goats puke... Seriously... what possessed you to pick it up? Bikini Babes with swords isn't that appealing. I'd rather hold on to my money than play a bad game with bikini clad maidens.

Glad you were smart about it, because I wasn't.

Chicks in bikinis fighting zombies with katanas, I dig it. >_>

I mean... yeah, it sounds great on paper and all... but it doesn't quite play out in practice.

At least it wasn't bad as Damnation, me and a friend rented it and we laughed on how horrible it was.

Funny addition to Damnation: the dev team responsible for that abortion have all been fired.

Hate to mega-bump, but don't need to make another Nier thread.

I have been playing this the past few days now and I have to say I am having a very fun time with it, it definitely has a feeling of western and JRPG in one, though I would still lean it more towards JRPG.

My pro's and con's:

Pros
-Great story that keeps you intrigued from start to finish.
-Battle system is smooth, not original by all means, but fun and does go by a leveling system and does not try to complicate things for you in the interface department.
-I love the main character, it is not some randomly generated JRPG main character, it is actually a lot older person trying to find a cure to his daughter's illness.
-Has an overworld feature similar to Zelda, not sure if the areas I am going to expand beyond that quite yet.
-Boss fights are clever where you are not just hacking and slashing at them, you have to think of what to do beforehand, its easy to figure out, but still better than just simply hacking and slashing.
-Very versatile in letting you focus on physical abilities more or magic abilities.
-Voice acting is superb, some sound generic, but not the main characters.
-Very memorable soundtrack and has a real calm feeling to it.
-Has awesome dungeons, the soundtrack and the areas are well designed and has a small amount of puzzling in each one.

Cons
-The main character is "hideous" looking in the facial department. I know the developers were aiming for a barbaric looking face, but that is ugly even in WRPG standards. Its funny that this is one of the reasons the japanese have an alternate version to the game called Nier: Replicant and he is a teenager instead of a father.
-Graphics do feel kind of out of date in some areas, with how most games are looking today, the detail in areas do not impress me at all.
-Some battle animations question me, like when the main character jumps he looks like Liu Kang doing his jump kicks.
-Side quests feel repetitive and don't find them that much fun, a bunch of go fetch'em quests.
-I found the fishing aspect of the game annoying and tedious, good thing you only had to do it once.
-At the beginning of the game, the battle system did feel a little weird, but after a while when you are not swinging a steel pipe anymore, it starts getting a lot better.

My cons are kind of more opinionated than fact, but overall I love this game and it is a worthwhile experience to anyone who decides to purchase it. It is a decently long game, taking about 30 hours to complete it, which is pretty good in a action/adventure like standards. I would give it a 8/10, its a great game, it doesn't take a step forward in the genre, especially at their attempt to appeal to western gamers, but any typical JRPG fan like myself will love it.
