The Pixie Earring has caught my interest recently. What are your thoughts on it and should I bother to get it? Also, there has been speculation that it may has a hidden effect. Can anyone confirm this?

I've never heard anything about a hidden affect so your probably better off with something like this:

I already have those. Although I only use Assault Earring at night. During the day, I use Fenrir's earring.

Those earrings are meh for me. I sold them when I got Brutal and bought assault earring

Ok, thanks for your opinion v I just figured I'd ask because I've seen a few DRGs in my server fulltiming the pixie earring. While we're on topic of WS, what are your thoughts on my Drakesbane setup?

I got a pixie for drakes since I'm doing a crit/dex set up with mine. Was cheaper than an adroit and more dex so I figured it was worth it. Plus I can always use it on BLU, too. Oddly, trying to focus on DEX/crit, I ended up with the same amount of STR from other gear and hasso... right now I end up with 40 STR, 40 DEX, +9% crit hit (not including the rumored crit+% from pixie) and my drakes do alright. I macro in Wyrm armet (until I get my cap, just about finished.. ), Nuevo coselete (+3% crit +10 att), kubira beads (until I get torque/gorget) AF+1 hands, war wolf belt, pixie earring, thunder ring, wyrm brais (until my 35 legs drop for ares..) and aurum sabatons.

Once I finish my cap I'm gonna start saving up for a cuchulain's mantle, but right now all my gil is being focused on that. I just finished NIN which was a small gil sink, just got BRD and BST left.. then it's 100% focus on getting the rest of the gear I need.

I'd recommend using some form of attack for WS in the form of legs or body. Definately would use Barone legs over aurum for the added attack, with Nlegs being the best.

Aleera, I don't see a point in wearing thunder ring on any job, unless you're a thf, flame ring will do better considering the weaponskill itself has a 50% Str mod, just my opinion. Needs moar Nhead and weaponskill in Nfeet and Nhands... they aren't all that hard to obtain and their use goes a far way in what I consider the best drakesbane feet and hands currently. Good luck on that 35 drop.

I don't touch HNMs.. so n. head is out of the deal. I bought the earring off a LS who does KB regularly. And I only got thunder cause I figured the dex would help my dex build.. Once we start doing sky more I do plan to get the other heca pieces, but it probably won't be for a while. We're mostly focused on ZNMs and sea right now, and just started doing einherjar again. lol I had posted a while ago in the Thal vs Cletine thread that I was aiming for a dex/crit build on drakes but no one seemed to give any pointers, though. I figured since I have cletine maybe it might be worth working on, but it's more or less experimental at this point. Someone like Wolfknight who already has pretty much everything I'm striving for could probably figure it out before I could, but I figured I'd give it a shot myself.. gotta live and learn, right? lol

I think he means the "hidden" acc and crit comes from the dex on the earring, not there being an actual hidden effect on it. lol

Ever since this game came out, everyone has always speculated that there were hidden effects on the Pixie Earring. It has been tested and tested and no one has ever found anything out. Just assume it is a 3 DEX earring and it sucks for everything DRG. Leave it at that.
