Hey i'm looking for some suggestions for anyone that might have some ideas to augment a piece for fire resist for pld. I have Aegis and Shadow ring and am not able to find an assault breastplate so the current body piece I use is Republic Harness for the 5 fire resist.
Couple questions I have are:
1) Can a piece with fire resist on it already be augmented for more fire resist?
2) If no to that then what body piece might be the best to spam augment?
3) How much fire resist would be the max you could get off of an augment of this item?
4) Which zone(s) would be best to try?
PLD body augment for fire resist

Just searched alittle on the talk page for the argument NMs but somebody said that they got this:
+1 "Charm Resist" +8 "Fire Resist" (Padded Armor) Darksday 89% Waning Crescent
from:
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Gudanna
Nobodies really sure if the arguments are random or affected by anything, but you could always just find a cheap body and spam it over and over again until you get something useful. GL with that though >.>

my main question is can you trade something with fire resist and get it to add additional fire resist. I have never seen something like that. i.e republic harness

You probably can, however it's 100% random so I could be wrong.

Hey Odog congrats on the Aegis!!
Man I wish I'd know you were after a breastplate, I sold one a few weeks ago. I'll keep my eyes out for one, and in the meantime PLD/RDM can solo the ENM for it.
It's a low drop rate, obviously, but not too hard to run up there solo every week.

Thanks for looking out for an assault breastplate and I answered my own question last night about fire pieces... Let me post what I got here in a sec...

This was first try after asking the question I had asked about double fire resist lol... Not bad if you dont have or dont wanna spend the gil on assault breastplate haha or like me and can't find one!

Clearly that dude is a spy put here by SE to lure us into wasting time using the augment system, since he got that augment the first first fucking time
Seriously though, gratz on the luck of the immediate good augment..

I would like to try other PLD or even NIN pieces to augment for increases fire resist over the typical pieces used as well.
Body, Hands, Feet are the pieces that jump out to me as ones that could be made better but who knows what we might come up with. If anyone else is willing to try a bunch and post any good result/bad results that would be much appreciated.

Hands are level 70 so don't expect to augment them.
Aren't power sandals rare/ex too? I've used IR so long I can't remember. If so, can't augment those either.

Yeah that was my mule he bought it from, I bought it in Rolanmart and figured I'd see what I could get for it on AH.
I've seen them as low as 2.5-3, but most I see are in that range Oneway paid.
