I finally got another silkworm thread tonight to complement my canvas toile. I've already got the feet and was planning to do the head next. BUT...then this business about anwig salade comes around, and we've got a couple of recipes for extremely strong WS pieces. Assuming you were planning to use your augments for corsair instead of another job, is the AF+1 hat now dead and buried?

It does seem like Anwig is set to make AF1+1 redundant if you choose to make it a WS piece, yeah. Pretty much any combination of STR+4 WS ACC +15, AGI+4 WS DMG+2%, and R.ACC +10 R.ATT +5 is going to make a very comparable, if not entirely superior WS piece. Depending on which combination you choose, AF1+1 could still be better for ranged TPing though, if you ever bother with that.

I'd still upgrade the hat, that way you don't need to pull all your AF out of storage.

I omitted the obvious +4 AGI bonus to Quick Draw because it is precisely that; obvious. Everyone knows the hat, wether NQ or HQ, is the Quick Draw piece - it goes without saying that +4 AGI doesn't hurt. The thread seemed to be about the hat's use as a WS piece. I answered the question; Anwig does seem set to make the +1 hat potentially redundant as a WS piece.

I do find it so terribly ironic however, that you, someone who made numerous posts whining about my "flying off the handle and attacking people for no reason" should make such a post, though. Even moreso that you should do so while attempting to point out something is not redundant because it does make an at least marginal improvement in some situations and will still be occasionally more useful - and then go on to mention /BRD...which I believe was the original source of your ill will towards me, was it not? You called it entirely useless and I pointed out that, as long as something is the superior option in a given situation, that it is not useless?

That's not to say /BRD is more useful than +4 AGI on AF1+1 mind you and I'll not derail the thread with that beaten topic any further, but I do wonder if you realise how severely you just bit your own ass.

To answer OP's question in more detail; Wether AF1+1 hat is truly dead & buried as anything other than a WS piece depends on your priorities and on the other gear you have available. AF1+1 body is a decent enough piece, but there are quite a few other better or comparable pieces available. If you're not likely to come across any of them any time soon, you might consider it if you find yourself DDing often enough to make it a bigger improvement than what the hat has to offer. Of course, if you don't merit on COR or take it to any events in which you'd be allowed to hit things, then the hat, even dethroned as it is as the chief WS piece, is still certainly worthy of consideration.

That said if you do Limbus often enough that this is just a matter of which to do first, you might as well just toss a bloody coin.
