This is essentially the reason people won't let RDM melee in a pt (much to my dismay at times).

For me, it completely depends on the level in question.

Well up to level 20 or so people don't care what you do in any job. xD

Also the reason why Ceremonial Dagger is a popular choice among Red Mages. With it, you can deal decent amount of damage by completely relying on the Enspell damage and without feeding the mob any TP.

So yes, 0 DMG and added effect damage(Holy Bolts, Enspells, etc.) = 0 TP.

I don't think you have to go to so much trouble. Generally, people don't really care if their red mage wants to melee in xp, as long as it doesn't stop them from doing everything they have to do. They're not exactly going to kick you and spend two hours finding a new red mage over something so trivial...

This reminds me of another thread where someone wondered if a RDM could get ahold of enough -attack gear that they can use a K.Club and hit for 0 constantly with an En spell up.

Dunno if it never got tested, kind of doubting it to. But if it's real... god damn RDMs would insane.

I think he was meaning solo. It's a popular HNM solo strategy for RDM's to dual wield Beestinger and Hornet Needle and slowly Enspell something to death because you wouldn't have to worry about TP moves.

Hmm... ATK might be going about it the wrong way. Since ATK is a ratio with a multiplier, it would be extremely difficult to seek 0 damage through -ATK.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. RDM can get like -45 attack in equipment though I doubt it'd really help.

I could be wrong, but doesn't en-spell damage only apply to the first hit of a multi-hit attack?

I would also add that you could eat a cursed soup for the -7 all stats so thats -7 str, and -7 attack at least extra.
