I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has responded to my post . Its helped me greatly and I'm working on getting the gear that was recommended already. I'm trying to get some of the IR pieces right now, and I figure I'll work on my macros for the AF and Adaman I already own (a friend gave me a full set as a gift lol so free is good), til I can get IR. And working on getting Askar (and Goliard too for rdm XD), as well. Also planning on dropping my current ACP body so I can go back and get the other for PLD instead. From what I understand I could be putting Fast Cast and Emn + on it right?

Anyways, I just wanted say thanks for all the advice. It's nice be able to find others who can tell me what gear and then actually tell me why I need it. I get tired of asking people and being told "just wear this" but not why I should wear it, or what situations I need to wear it for lol. I guess im just a person who wants specifics and to make sure I play the job right and the best I can. Im just glad to know now I can finally have a forum to go to for advice and help. Thanks again!

AF+1 body is pretty nice for Rampart if you don't have m.body.

I think I'd rather macro in Emnity gear rather than the VIT mods, but that's just me.

It really depends on what you're fighting. For wyrms/Ultima I would use Vit to lower dmg but if you just spam it for hate then use enmity, can't go wrong with two different rampart macros and choose accordingly.

Thats exactly why I didnt tell you gear pieces to wear, but what the gear pieces should carry depending on the situation you find yourself in, swinging your sword, producing hate, or finding yourself without shadows. You will learn more about your job, and find it easier to switch between gear pieces, if you take the time to go over each piece and decide what you think works best for you. Make macros for as many situations or actions that you do while you tank, and go down to campaign and try them out and see how it works for you. You can always come on and post pics on the pic thread to recieve critism. :reminder: Not all opinions will be facts, or helpful nor polite, so take all critism with a grain of salt and experiement.

Or if you know you have a "slow" stunner, have it for khim/cerb(if SB is down), really reduces Fulm, and stops burn from GoH iirc.

I do apologize if I came off wrong, its just in the LS im in there are very few 75 plds lol. And very many 75 RDMs so im use to being able to go to them and ask them what gear should I macro in for what situations. So I guess im looking at PLD from the same perspective as in what gear should I macro in for what I do. It just helps me understand better. Thats what I was meaning really is what situations should I be wearing what gear since im still learning and trying to understand the job itself. The only PLD I really knew was more of the old school type in that he loaded himself down with nothing but strictly VIT gear. Which is all well and good I guess until it comes down to holding hate and you can have all the VIT gear you want and it wont do one bit of good lol.

Changing my nation in the past to Sandy because im starting to realize how painfully expensive it is when your nation is Windy but you want all the IR gear.

I don't mind any questions, some people like to get bent out of shape and fail to realize that everyone starts somewhere.

The main fault in your LS PLD that you mentioned is that even if they have hate, VIT is so badly implemented that you can stack all you want and you won't see an appreciable drop in damage taken on most endgame mobs. (Exceptions apply, although not many)

Shield Skill and pure -Physical Damage Taken do much more to reduce damage taken.

(I get chided all the time for looking like a male stripper, but my "ohshit" set with some Darksteel+1 works better than Koenig and crap like that)
