More Bells and Whistles for the /bell Command!

The /bell command added in the April version update will be expanded to allow two full octaves, including sharp and flat notes, to be played. From full-scale hand bell orchestras at Vana'dielian weddings to solo performances of your favorite tunes on street corners, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination!


Enhanced Ebisu Fishing Rods!

The ebisu fishing rod, looked upon by many as the mythic weapon of the angler community, is set to be on the receiving end of a potent upgrade. From the July version update onwards, wielders of this mighty king among fishing rods can expect an even bigger haul after a day at their favorite fishing spot.


Curry Favor with Curry Buns!

In response to popular demand from fans at the official 2008 festival event in Japan, it is with great pleasure that we announce "curry buns" as one of the latest additions to the diverse food synthesis menu. Be sure to pack a few in your gobbiebag before you head off on that next big adventure!

/bell commands? Seriously? How about info on this so called avatar SMNs are supposed to be getting, or new job adjustments? Since part 2 was some of the weakest shit I have ever seen in my life. Not the most worthless command XI has ever seen in it's 7 year span.

I'm starting to think I need to hop on the "SE is trying to make us quit XI for XIV" bandwagon, since these updates are just god awful. This has got to be one of the worst series of update notes in XI's history.

I don't have a bell, as I thought it a trivial, pointless, stupid&annoying thing. I keep my sound turned off. Maybe I should have gotten one since it seems like I'm going to be missing out big time once this update hits.

I'm expecting the NIN job abilities to be completely useless because of the positioning thing and the facts that not only do they share the same 5min timer, but their effects decay over time.

Sounds like that much-needed buff NIN needs, wont be from this update. Therefore, the entire update sounds like garbage. We can only hope demand they throw something half-decent into the update details on Monday morning.

Agreed, they could have found something better to improve the game on instead of adding new bell commands.

Bell commands get boring after 5 minutes or so, and even then only a small population(1-2%-ish) actually care to use the bell.

A simple fix like "Dancers can now heal outside the party!" or something else simple would have been much much better, it would have taken like 5 seconds to change that instead of the 5 minutes they decided to waste on making new bell sounds and implanting new bell commands.


And Curry Buns? I do like the variety of foods in the game and I do like reading about them but I think we have enough food items at this point of the game.

What I mean is, why did they waste time adding a new food when there are plenty, and why did they dedicate a third of the page to announce the food?

Of course it's not like bell commands were any better.

One thing I wonder is that just a couple months ago, they knew what order they should've put out the update notes...and now they're doing shit like this. I find it pretty sad when the developers decide to actively mock us by wasting manpower to write up stupid crap like this- I feel bad for the translation team. =P

I do wonder, though, wtf? Curry buns. Supposedly requested in the 2008 festival in Japan... didn't we get our "Cheese sandwich" in like a month after the fanfest? I mean, did SE basically rip their hair out trying to figure out what other easy, useless thing they could add to this update to flesh it out a little, and pulled out the notes from their festival? Good grief...

To be honest I've come to expect update notes like this since we had one about new backgrounds for the title screen and changing the colour of mob names.
They should just cut the shit and just release the update faster if they can't find crap to put in it. Not sure how less content results in longer waits.

Unless Curry Buns are twice as awesome and half the cost of Marinara Pizza, this looks to be one of the most horrendous set of update notes I've seen. I had promptly forgotten about the Bells thing entirely, as I have never seen anyone on Alexander make use of it. (really, why would anyone bother?) I'm sure that there is something else SE is planning to announce on Monday, it just better be good, as Kupo d'tat isn't going to cut it.
