Anyone got any info on the new Katana?
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Tsukumo
It is obviously for the aug. weapon quest, but I can't seem to find what the augments are. There have been a few sold on several servers, unfortunately on my server someone has jacked up the price pretty high.
Also, any info on the recipe and required crafts? The ones listed on the wiki are incorrect, I tried with a fairly high level crafter and the synth wouldn't start.

One on BG listed with +4 damage, +5acc 4% critical hit rate.
Main that (to make it 31 damage) and perdu off. That's some fast swinging. Toss on a little Innin from behind, perhaps a little rogue's roll. Screw the tp floor, look at me ma, I'm a crit machine gun!

while i would hate to part with my senjuinrikio...
i would donate 2 crit rate for 5 acc
granted, i think, if you can do it, you can probably make a better katana if you're allowed to augment fudo

I wasn't as lucky
The stats I got are decent, but not all that incredible. I might give it another try later on.
I got DMG+4, ACC+7, Earth Damage+12
The earth damage procs about 20% of the time maybe (haven't played with it too much). The acc boost is nice, but damage sucks (26 off hand, ew, 30 main hand).
These are stats from first run (first run stats seem to be better for everyone I've seen) in Grauberg. The mobs aren't trivial, but with the right setup it isn't impossible

This weapon would matter more if people were actually making the damn thing. There's like 20 SMN and SCH weapons up and 0 of these on my server. Well, 2 sold before, and they were like 300k.
But, accuracy +7 on a katana with that kind of delay...might be pretty useful. My only problem is that I don't really like these kunai-shaped weapons. =P

Going to be difficult to top Perdu as an offhand weapon, and the damage is too low to really outshine Senj as a mainhand weapon.
Even with the TP floor gone, you get more TP/delay the lower your delay goes, but it's not the same beautiful abuse of the system it was. Going to take one hell of a juiced up kunai to displace a good high-damage, high-crit mainhander.

Its not impossible, just need to understand Store TP calculations better, I believe richardd has successfully built a 5TP per swing build with Perdu and Unji

Actually, with the right setup, using 2 (190) Kunais + Haubergon gets you to 100 Tp faster (slightly) than senji/kunai + Chainmail.
Though, if you start using chainmail, you'll need more tp.
The dble kunai setup might be worth it when you get full usukane because you'll stop using chainmail.
However, I only saw acc/dmg/crit on these kunais, but nothing really specific to ninjas like we can see on the other jobs.
I really hope we'll see something better like dmg reduction, added effect dmg/poison/para, high eva etc...

Specifically the low delay katanas are for one purpose, zerging. so the high eva, para are kind of moot.

Well, if your only concern is to swing at max speed without considering the tp return, you won't zerg as fast as if you were using slower weapons.
That said, I see these weapons not only as damage weapons ( especially when this one weapon will not deal as much damage as other options).
I see some interesting alternatives for other jobs, so why not us. A -10% dmg reduction katana would be cool... not for zerging but for something else.
Ps; ppl don't zerg on Nin anymore

First of all, not even all of the fights have been won, much less had a Tsukumo used at them. Give it time as there appears to be a definite pattern of augments as per where (and possibly when) the fight is initiated and won.
That said, the sort of moronic, insipid, useless things that you would want, Arkhan, are likely to be a long way from what anyone else wants. -Magic Damage Taken would be appreciated, though.

Because damage reduction and high evasion are so useless for solo.

What was that, sockpuppet? Something about solo? Allow me to introduce you to Mamushito +1. You can even augment it through Fields of Valor to possibly get some STR on it.

In my opinion, offhand eva +10 is a shoo in over mamu.
No reason to get pissy about it.

For your databases.
I've done 6 fights now, and here's what I got...
First 5 fights in Vunkerl
1) DMG+3, Accuracy +6, Added Effect: Ice +9
2) DMG+4, Accuracy +5, Subtle Blow +5
3) DMG+4, Accuracy +4, Subtle Blow +3
4) Accuracy +4 (that's all! WTF)
5) DMG+3, Accuracy +7, STR +1 (5th and final try, I took it
)
Sixth fight in Grauberg
6) DMG+3, Spell Interupt -2%, Added Effect: Flash +9
Curious about the Flash +9, but the rest stunk! So I've got 4 tries left...
DMG and Accuracy seem almost standard.
3rd traits I've also seen are Critical Hit Rate +4% and Added Effect: Earth+12

I was hoping to see flash as an add effect on this since it was on other weapons. Is +9 equivalent to 9% proc rate? Wanting to see some higher numbers on that.

Crit 4 wouldn't be bad at all, the flash proc from what I hear is pretty damn low though
