I quit FFXI a few years back, but I tend to browse these boards about once every 3 months and wanted to let a few of you know about a new game thats just entered Beta stages. Its called Mortal Online.

Think of it like the Elder Scrolls oblivion.. Similar combat system, enviroment, etc but its entirely online and its open PVP everywhere.

Its worth checking out.. Its trying something new and hopefully it succeeds.

I never thought an Oblivion-esque game would work in an MMO setting...

Surely the point of posting it on a forums is to get a response.

Also i looked at some of the game screenshots and tried to download the beta. Didn't work so i gave up, looks pretty good though.

I did like the idea that there are no maps in the game... Unless of course you take up the map making craft, but you still have to explore the world blind!

Making your own home in the world is also another interesting idea.

Your home can be robbed by other players... An interesting feature to say the least.

One thing people may not like is the game is in first person view, but its better this way with how the combat system works.

There are also no levels to be gained, instead you develop combat skills.

The beta looks like its coming along quite nicely, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be another disappointment like I had with Warhammer Online..

This is why i'd make a nice house with a white picket fence, apple pie on the window, and wait till some fool tries to raid my place so i can get free kills without leaving the house.

I might even leave the door open if my character doesn't clip the door. HK anyone?
