Is an augmented fay gendawa better than a vali or selene's bow?

the values for STR+, Rng Attack+, Rng Delay and Ws Dmg would have to be near max. It makes it a contender for sure but E/Vbow has 490 Delay which is a deal breaker.


On a side note. I have been seeing Augmented Haguns. Which makes me wonder if I can augment my Euryto's Bow.

I have no intention of replacing my Vali's Bow, but if I lacked it, I would seriously be trying to get a Fay Gendawa with STR, Ranged Attack, and Weaponskill Damage. Ranged Accuracy/Weaponskill Accuracy is pleasant, but I can get that in a lot of other places without much trouble. I'd sooner throw on a Behemoth Ring and forgo a Flame Ring in favor of WS Damage.

Easier 5 hits build for fay gendawa if you have it. I got +4str/+12ratt/4%ws damage from vunkrel the other night. All you need is 32 store tp to get 5 hits with it too, /sam 15, rajas 5, hachi legs+feet 5, mekki 5, and with rose strap 4. With 34stp, 4 of your hits will give 81.2tp which will let you use another feet instead of hachi feet for WS. Can always use brutal earring and cobra feet for +5stp on the feet part too. This would be another set up for ppl who hate salvage like me and will never get skadi legs (or doesn't have it).

I'd also like to see an augmented e-bow but I'm kind of chicken to do it until I understand the system better. I'm pretty sure it's possible to do so though since it does have a level and is not rare/ex.

By augmenting gear doesnt it turn rare/ex? It'll be kinda scary to get the wrong augment, and at the same time lose all value on the weapon you have...

Looking at the Wiki page, probably the best place to augment the Gendawa is Xarcabard [S].

If you get lucky, probably the best augments are (assuming you can have 3 max like the other augments so far):

Delay -8% (Brings it down to 496 delay)
STR+4
Ranged Attack +16

OR

Delay -8%
Ranged Attack +16
Weaponskill damage +3%

This bow is probably best for those that can't obtain a Vali's/Eurytos' and/or Selene's Bow. However, this alone probably beats Selene's, since that bow is just too random.

I already have Vali's Bow, so going to be so hard to let go of it. XD

490 delay is so, so nice along with Ranged Attack+23.

However, just keep this in mind as mentioned by someone on BG Forums (given current prices on my server):

You will most likely have spent close to, if not equivalent to, the price of a Eurytos' Bow (or Hagun) if you continue to attempt getting the better augments. That is IF you cannot craft/obtain the craft materials for free.

So far, I'm going for Fay lance and Dweomer knife. If I can get DMG+5 or DMG+6 on Fay lance, that'll be great.

yeah augmented gear turns aug/ex and it's a one time shot. that being said there are a couple ranger pieces that you could gamble with I guess (rings, back, staff, bow, earrings). it would definitely be a lot of gil lost if you get a bad augment but it looks like you have the chance of getting +str... probably still better off spamming ACP missions for earrings.

wouldn't 72 dmng, delay -8%, str+5, and ratt+19 be better than e/v.bow though? i mean...that does increase weapon rank by 1, and it's more str than v.bow, w/ 4 less ratt and no 3 agi/racc, w/ like...6 more delay?

i think this bow has the potential to be beter. marginally, but still better :/

I would love to see a comparison test between Vali's/Eurytos' and Fay Gendawa; see which parses better over a short or long period of time.

If I wasn't trying to augment Fay lance and Dweomer knife, I'd do Gendawa but I'll probably do that after I'm done with lance and knife.

If one can get the max -8% delay, that's 6 away from Vali's/Eurytos', but you lose the Accuracy and 4 R.Atk. In return, you gain STR+4 (max) and WS damage +3%.

It's not easy at all. You will probably spend a lot of money just trying to get at least one of the stats maxed.

Yup, I mentioned similar in a previous post.

However, it'd be nice to try it and test this bow out even if can't get the maxed stats. Fay gendawas are now down to 70k on my server and you can get a chance on lotting on them in Union-- for free.
