i think i might wright a letter to SE in that deal on play online, i can under stand not letting us get are timer down to 10s /swoon, but come one a smn who worked for all the possible equipment the cap shouldn't be higher then 30s, i mean 50% is fast cast cap, why should blood pact cap at 75%? /AngryFace

well i guess the only thing now to get for the fay staff would be...

-1 to bp timer (or more, but you just need -1 to hit cap)
+5 to MAB

third slot could be...

+5 Patt or +5 to Macc or Pacc... up 2 you.

Ohh... actually i think +4 to Mab is cap? and +7 to Patt is cap? if someone can shed light on the caps for each stat that would be cool.

ATM i have a MAB +4 staff.

Screw the -1 even, it'll take away from other augments. Might as well optimize this shit for what we can get.

It's taking me considerable restraint to not let out a string of profanity right now.

Hmm i you thinking kinda limited on this with say -3 you could just not put you could cap bp rage and keep your Koschei Crackows (/drool) or Evoker's Pigaches +1, you can do it with any slot but head (-4) or body (would need -6 but no one has seen that)

just doing the math with a 45sec recast a smn could keep 4 3min BP:W put till he out of mp
might be fun

Are you guys really surprised? Although it'd take some unusual circumstances and gearing, I could get 35% Haste or more on my Monk, but a cap exists. You work with the cap. Black Mage may be able to put out similar numbers to your Predator Claws or what have you at a faster rate, but they get all the aggro for it.

All this ultimately does is tell you when you can stop stressing out about -Blood Pact Delay and focus on other stats.

As much as i dont like seeing the cap i can see why it exists.
45 sec timer cap is the same as 25% haste for a melee but heres the kicker path, the 25% haste cap is purely from gear, Spell recast can still benefit from up to 50% on haste for their recast, and melee attacks can get up to 80% cap..
recast haste does nothing for us since the recast on an avatar is shorter then our BP timer anyways.

Haste and/or Fast Cast does nothing for our BP timer since its a JA, just like haste does nothing for any other JA recast timer. You can merit your JA recasts, we cant. so in a sence the 25% cap is almost a slap in our face, since everyone else can break the 25% cap in some form on their main DD focus, but we cant.

You do bring up a point, a Blm can put out the numbers, faster but we do it hate free (relativly, initating a Bp still causes a little hate, but its very little, though it is cumulatie enimity that doesnt decay unless we get hit)

Yeah, I completely understand that, Homina. With all the -Perpetuation gear, maybe SE will finally get it through their heads to make avatar melee stand up against real melee (since Blood Pact: Rage is essentially your avatar's version of a weaponskill). I did the Windurst [S] quest in Fort Karugo-Narugo (The Long March North) with a Summoner and not only was Garuda's damage poor compared to even the AH-geared Monk we had along, but the Summoner could only sustain her for a few minutes. There's a balance issue, to be sure, but lowering the Blood Pact timer substantially is probably not where balance should be fixed, especially with how costly Blood Pacts are.

If it was a gimp summoner that might explain it. I can put out a lot of BP damage before my MP is exhausted.

annnyyywayss...

You are right the nice thing now is we know where the cap is and can focus on other things. That part is nice. I feel a 30 sec cap is more appropriate. If you think about when that cap was made it was probably around the time when relic armor came out and BP- gear was introduced. Times have changed and I think a 30second cap is a little more realistic. Although we cant reach 30 seconds, it would be a nice goal to shoot for.

Ohhhh welll..

Better focus on other augments then.
I got lucky and on my first try I got :
*Avatar perpetuation cost -2
*Pet: Attack +7, Ranged Attack+7
*Pet: Magic Attack Bonus +2

I accepted lol, it's actually the best setup imo for the staff, now just need -3 perp and MAB+4 to make it perfect.
I know that Bahamut's staff has -3 perp but I'm unlucky with that one ad my shell stopped doing Bahamut long time ago.

Focus on other things? BP timer gear is like hMP gear. It is entirely it's own gear set. You macro it in when initiating a blood pact, then you swap to skill/attack/accuracy gear when the blood pact is about to fire.

But no one can argue that the cap doesn't make sense. Everything in the game is capped as far as we know (except enemy damage, unless the cap is something like 99,999 since a lot of us have taken ~70,000 damage from Everyone's Rancor.)
