@the rune chopper thing.... does it not count towards equipment haste or something? (and does the belt stack with normal haste?)
you mentioned out-doing Yochi SAM at birds, but I dont see that happening.... the SAM (if anywhere near decent) would have soboro, /drg and 26% equipment haste along with hasso.
Not to mention, will be getting considerably less hate (Names gives abou the same hate as Dispel, iirc) meaning he can use better food, take less damage and get less feather tickles.
I can't back this up with first hand experiece, but from what Drace has mentioned about Yochi on the SAM forums/BG, It's absolutely the best possible combo on birds, and lots of other merit level mobs.

I don't really know Konda. I don't really even care to much. I'd love to see a soboyo at birds but *shrug*. the point is that the zerg-hasted rune chopper is friggen baller. the haste belt is what completes the build. you'd be at 35% magic haste otherwise, but the belt caps you out, while the chopper gives you enough haste to maintain a equip haste capped set. 70->80% haste = ~+33% increased DoT.
So yes there is a significant difference between the level of haste the sam is getting and the one the war is getting. I've seen RC in a lot of situations, and 80% haste RC will easily outdo me, capped pole sams, etc. but soboro yoichi? i really dont have a clue *shrug*
this assumes no dancer of course. a dancer can bring all hassoing dd's to 80%, and RC/HB'ers to 80% while /nin.

Better than kclub RNG with a cannon or relic gun? >_> or a kclub SAM with relic bow for that matter? Maybe I'm underestimating ACC issues, but I partied with a kclub cannon rng once, he absolutely carried the parse and I think he was fucking /nin. Just straight up destroyed some really pimp DD.

For what its worth, Yoichinoyumi is not as game-breaking in terms of damage as some imagine. It doesn't profit a Samurai to run back to the sweet spot to fire off Namas Arrow because they'd be doing it damned near every five seconds, so they're stuck firing from melee range which is pretty painful in terms of the damage hit. It's still really good damage, but the big draw is the substantial change in Enmity gain compared to a standard Hagun + Tachi: Gekko arrangement.

from what i've heard, soboro with all of that haste and normal sam tp gear actually matters (though it would be phenomenal by normal standards, but it matters). the big draw i'm supposing is that very thing + the lack of hate you get from namas = full time hasso and red curry. i agree that it'd probably best to fire it from melee rng, dk how much it'd do. there's a yoichi in my ls and also formerly in my salvage static with sam leveled (Mimiru), but he's never online
so i've never gotten to party with him
