Can anyone read this quote on this Elzen's staff?

It just sounds like/looks like flavor text, but I'd rather like to see what you guys think it says.

How could anyone try to read something like that. It's faded. as someone already mentioned it is probably some kind of rune. On the other hand it could be a short poem, a one liner, who knows? Speculation is fun though!

...Why would you even think if the FFXIV staff had some type of secret, they would put it in a picture? huh.gif


EDIT: I used this magnifiier that comes on my aunts laptop...it looks like the first word is 'Since'. The rest is still kind of blurry. I might be wrong it might not even be in english but thats what i see.
