I say it'll be a war between Microsoft or Disney for world domination.

Creepy thing is, we should have seen this coming.

Disney owns the rights to many of our childhood Saturday morning shows.

X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Avengers, Hulk, and even Batman: the Animated Series and Justice League. Fuck, they even own Power Rangers now.

But like I said on the Gamespot forums, this is a boon and a curse. Disney will be able to make somewhat decent films (at least we'll be able to see the Spidey/Wolverine line-up in the Avengers).

But the games? Hopefully they keep licensing out the game rights.

But hey! Kingdom Hearts 4? Oh yeah! Wolverine will get to try his A-Game on Aerith and Kairi and Tifa!

Northstar will try to get with Cloud and Sephiroth, I'm sure.

I thought that the Batman animated series was handled by Warner Brothers? Don't tell me Disney owns them too?

we're gonna see a Spiderman meets Mickey Mouse Movie just watch. Disney also owns some adult film studios apparently so it seems they have their claws in almost everything when it comes to entertainment now.

More then likely they'll just watch their wallets get fatter after some of the upcoming movies come out (Spiderman 4, Magneto, etc.)probably make a few new shows on disney channel. as long as Stan Lee still gets to do what he's been doing I'll be happy.

Disney owns everything.

Everything Batman is Warner Bros. I believe. And Disney doesn't own the animated show, they own the rights to present it on their channel.

Its like Family Guy being on FOX, Adult Swim, TBS, and a couple local channels.

When I read this on the news yesterday, my only concern is this: Disney better not "Disney-fy" ANYTHING that belongs to Marvel.

For godsakes, they better not. I really do not want to see more dumbed-down animated rehashes of the same Marvel comic hero/heroine. I always considered the original better. Studios don't know when to stop. At least the Batman animated series has turned out pretty decently, but they keep canceling them and remaking them from the beginning.

Hopefully, also, no G-rated or PG-rated Marvel-related films come out of this deal.

The new Punisher film shall now feature Walky-talky's instead of guns.

I hope they do some quality control for some of it, we're talking about the guys who thought that making Spiderman (You know, the guy they put on lunchboxes and children's underpants?) end his 20-year marriage by making a deal with Satan was somehow a good idea, or at least passable enough to actually allow it to be printed.

I'm not being sarcastic, by the way.

Then again, I suppose Spiderman's deal with Satan is one of those things where you see reality imitating fiction, with Marvel and Disney making a deal. Speaking of obvious jokes, I'm disappointed that so few of you have made any Kingdom Hearts jokes yet. I'm sure all of you want to see Sora dressed in that terrible Human Spider wrestling costume Peter Parker used in the first live-action film.

And besides, I don't see much declining quality in a lot of the "newer" Marvel series, I just see a lot of jaded nostalgic people. The Spectacular Spiderman, for instance, was pretty good, and if you go back and watch the Spiderman Animated series, that's one cartoon I'll say definately did not age well, as opposed to Batman Beyond or X-Men. X-Men Evolution wasn't as good as the series before it, but it wasn't really bad in any ways.

I don't think that Spiderman meeting Mickey Mouse will be any less ridiculous than the last episode of Spiderman TAS where he meets Stan Lee. =P

For the record, I've never watched JL or JLU, so I can't give too much of an opinion on that. I generally stopped watching cartoons around the time Batman Beyond ended, and I started being more interested in live-action TV. These days I get most of my animation fix through movies, mostly Pixar. I guess I watch anime occasionally, but I don't feel as motivated to search for the gold in that dung heap as before.

I guess a film based off of the Punisher Max run is pretty much out now.

You're dead to me Marvel.

Guys just remember, they only own it. Disney owns alot of things and their censorship doesn't take affect. Like ABC channel for instance, has shows on there that are not exactly Disney like.
